How long was D1 in development? And you know how it launched! It was broke for 2 1/2 years, and still never became what it was advertised to be.

Wasn't that partially Activision's fault, because they made Bungie start from scratch half way through development?

I'm sure they have blame for some of it, yes. Bungie still never came clean on what was promised and what was never done. They kept that model even after they left Activision's umbrella. If anything, they've gone further away from what they seemed to want it to be. Or not. I guess we'll never know.
