A woman is sitting against the railing of a nearby rooftop, looking very annoyed. “Ugh, this rain is going to ruin my hair.” With an annoyed groan, she glances around to see if anyone’s watching. Confident she was alone, she snaps her fingers, and the rain around her begins falling up instead of down, leaving her perfectly dry. “Well, that should help.” She said, looking up at the rising droplets of water. “But this is still such a drag. I’m sure Kimmy won’t mind if I head inside until the storm’s over.” She glances over the edge of the rooftop, and looks around. With an annoyed sigh, she reaches back and opens up an old cello case. Inside was a sniper rifle, loaded, and ready to fire. With a little but of tinkering, she detached the scope, and used it to look around. That’s when she saw Blaze’s Bar. “A miserable little pub out in the middle of nowhere?” She hastily threw the scope back in the case, and scooped it up as she stood. “Reminds me of home!” A few minutes later, she threw open the door, and took a seat at the counter, placing her cello case next to her. She placed her elbow on the counter, and rolled a golden coin through her fingers. “Hey, barkeep, you a gamblin’ man? How about a little wager?”

  • Blaze looks over, red eyes glowing. “Wager? What kind?”

  • She slid the coin into her fist, and then held it out between her thumb and index finger. On its face you could see a stylized sun symbol, with a crescent instead of a circle. “I’ll flip this coin five times. If it lands tails all five times, I get a drink on the house. On the flip side..” She turned it over, and you could see the head of someone you didn’t recognize. “If it gets heads just once, I’ll buy a drink for everyone in the building.” She flipped the coin high into the air, and caught it in her hand. “Deal?”

  • Blaze shrugs. “Sure, I don’t mind either outcome.”

  • She flips the coin three times, and watched the coin closely each time. Three tails in a row. On the fourth time, the coin seemed to let off a sparkle in mid air, before landing again on tails. One more flip, this one landing square in your hand, again on tails. “Looks like I win! I’m not picky, though, I’ll take whatever. Just make sure it’s not too strong; I’m technically still on the clock here.”

  • Blaze passes her a drink, smiling. “So what’s the name?”

  • “Kitty. Kitty Cattail. Traveling musician.” She pats her cello case. “My songs are so good they’ll knock ya dead! Was supposed to be having a show, when this storm rolled up out of nowhere. I don’t play in the rain.”

"What this bar needs is some entertainment. I'd not assume you play for free... I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that... *uses foot to shift cello case ever so slightly* someone who rolls around with a lighter than usual cello case may find beneficial..."

  • “Hm..”Kitty rolls her coin through her fingers. “I’ve already got a gig, and it’s kind of a long term thing. I’m assuming you had a particular audience in mind for me, though?”

*withdraws hip flask, proceeds to take a drink, casually tightens the cap and returns flask to pocket* "That I do. However, it would involve developing identities as ゆるキャラ... another longterm commitment demanding extreme tact and razor-like focus. Best not to overextend. Perhaps after your current engagement our paths may cross again." *Steps back from bar. Withdraws an individual cigarette from somewhere inside jacket and brings it to lips. With a snap of my fingers, the cigarette is lit and I'm moving for the door*

  • “Well, if Li’l Miss Red Eye ever finishes her science experiment, you can find me in Cipher City. I’ll hear about your request, then.” She flips her coin up into the air, and catches it in her palm.

  • “Not a fan of sunshine, huh? I’ll take clear skies any day, myself. It’s a lot easier to see people.”

  • “I’m surprised you aren’t dead. Some people pay a lot of money to off people like you, and there’s a clear line of sight through the window from next door. Load up a soul silver bullet, and bang, you’re out of the game.” She made a gun with her hands and made a pretend motion that she shot at you.

  • “Yeah but look around the bar. A lot of people like me, including a lot of powerful people. If you even made a single mistake, you’d be signing your own death warrant.”

  • “That’s the reason you feel safe here?” She laughed. “You aren’t open 24/7. A good assassin would wait until you’re alone, or at least out of the big crowd, and then there’s always a getaway plan. And even if someone did catch them, the patron would still be getting off Scott-free, and you’d still be out of the picture.”

  • “You know, you were talking everyone up here being super tough, but I don’t think you lot would last one day where I come from.” She chuckled to herself. And then her smile faded, as she looked down at her drink. “Back home.. It’s frowned upon to have any sort of supernatural powers. Even if they’re completely harmless, you’ll be ridiculed, harassed, and.. Worse. And if you lash out? Use your powers to try and get them to knock it off? Well.. They’ve got ways of bringig you back in line..” She paused for a moment. After a good bit of silence, she looked up at you. “And that’s not to say anything of powers like yours, where you feed on other people.”

  • “Is that not considered a rude question around here? If you ever visit Cipher City, word of advice; asking that’s likely to get you a slap in the face. It’s like asking a girl her weight. But alright.” She held up her arm, and her stark white armor began to turn jet black. “Invert. White to black, down to up, light to dark, vice versa and et cetera.”

  • “Ya think so? It’s caused me nothing but trouble. I’ll admit it’s got some neat tricks to it, though.” She flipped her coin into the air, and it went straight up onto the ceiling, where it sat for a few seconds, before eventually dropping back down into her palm. “Still, nobody wants to hire someone like me back home. If I didn’t have this power, I’d probably be living it up in a mansion somewhere, instead of sitting on a stupid rooftop in the rain all day.”
