In a flash of flames and feathers, I withdraw my wings and enter. A small orb of flames follows me, hovering around my shoulder level. My attire is as costly as ever, with a pair of small, golden wings at my collar. I’m giddy and cheerful as always.
“Bonjour, monsieur Blaze! It’s been a while since I stopped by. How’s life?”

*A man in a simple red travelers cloak watches you walk in and walks over, bowing a bit in the presence of such nobility and finery.* “Greetings M’lady. I have seen many patrons come in and out of this bar today and none of them have dressed in clothes as fine as yours, or have wings that I’ve noticed. My curiosity has gotten the best of me and I’ve decided to introduce myself, if you don’t mind.”
-
“Not at all! My name is Izuma Lunae, I haven’t been here In a while. And you are?”
-
“Xándar. I am a local blacksmith that works on the edge of the city. I thing I might stop by at the bar hero’s gather, see who I might meet.”
-
“A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Xándar. This place is pretty popular, I’d say you chose the right bar!”
-
“It seems I have, many interesting people here that I’ve never expected to come across. Although I’m not much of a drinker myself.”
-
“There should be plenty to drink that won’t inebriate you I believe. Blaze keeps a good stock of my memory serves me well.”
-
“Hmm, I hope he has some tea I do have a liking for that. So what is it that you do?”
-
“I’m an administrator at a hospital nearby. The Hospital for Little Wings, can’t miss it. Lovely place, state of the art technology and the friendliest workers too!”
-
“I believe I have seen it on the ways too and from my shop. That is a fine career to chose, helping in s institution that helps others is always a fine choice.”
-
“Thank you! I’ve always wanted to help others, and at the hospital I can do that for a lot of people I ordinarily wouldn’t be able to.”
-
“Living in the outskirts of this City I’ve seen hero’s fight long battles to defend this place from almost unending evil. Ive even had to rebuild my shop recently from a last attack. But I haven’t seen many who help in the aftermath.”
-
"Unfortunately that's where most of our heroes are. Not many want to play a supportive role these days." I sigh and shake my head, then glance at my watch. "Terribly sorry, but I've gotta clock in for work. It was a pleasure meeting you, Xándar! I hope I run into you again!"
-
A wood elf in minstrels attire walks towards you. Upon his face is a expression of curiosity. “Your a interesting character.” He says. “What roles do you tend to play?”
-
“I like to play a supportive role, the lovable and Indispensable secondary character. How about you?” I smile and outstretched my hand. “I’m Izuma, I haven’t been around here In a while.”
-
*the elf smiles in the fact that you knew what he was referring to.* “I prefer a similar role myself. A lovable secondary character who furthers their story for the main ones. Recording the story’s and recalling them are also some of my favorite parts. In a strange world where hero’s may fall someone has to tell there tales.” *the elf looks strangely at the outstretched hand before recalling that he has to shake it. He then does that.* “Antail Maeron. I haven’t been here for a while and have spent most of my time on the sidelines.”
-
“A pleasure to meet you, Antail.” I smile and sip my drink. “Of course, we are all the protagonists of our own lives. You and me probably have another couple hundred years to have our time to shine, I wouldn’t sweat it.” I wink
-
“I don’t want to be protagonist. Maybe having a few acts or even plays around my character would be nice but it is part of my duty to record the time. That is what I prefer doing. Recording and observing. Luckily people with us have much time to spend doing such things. Although a long lifespan will get rid of familiar characters and add new ones. I don’t know if the audience would like such change. But I expect older audiences to like the cameos our long lives provide.”
-
I chuckle “It’s true, some people are more reserved, and enjoy that role. I personally like a bit more fire in my life(pun intended with my whole fire cleric domain), but with our time here I bet there’s a lot to record! If the audience lives long enough to see the characters come and go, I think they wouldn’t mind. They’d see how you change and grow over the centuries!”
-
“Every character has there own interesting traits. Some prefer a fiery life, other want to be the star, some see the world as it is. It makes us all interesting. So much to record and so many interesting folk to talk to. Change is necessary but sometimes bad. For others grow and change all the time. Change isn’t my thing though.”
-
“Change? But don’t you record change yourself?”
-
“I record the change but I don’t as myself changing. I just would not prefer that.”
-
“Ahh, I see. How much have you recorded so far? And in song, I hope!” I chuckle and get another brandy. “Want a drink?”
-
“Not much actually. I haven’t had the time. Not all performers prefer song either. I myself am a actor. I can sing but the act is a beauty. “ After you state your next question the elf freezes. He looks curious and confused. “Something is wrong. For I already had a drink. I ordered one from blaze and took it over here. There is a problem though. A problem that most do not see. But I see the unseen! There is a error of continuity in the fabric of reality. Fascinating.”
