I'll answer the call, and sneak on traveling carts to reach the town.
English
-
The carts reach the outskirts of the town and grind to a stop. The driver of the first cart steps down and looks at the town, which remains eerily silent
-
I'll hop out, and head towards a gate.
-
No gate stands in your way, and you avoid detection. Behind you, the lead driver calls out to turn around and the carts trundle away. In front of you, the empty town lies still, no noise except for the small crunch of the gravel beneath your feet. Items lay strewn across the ground
-
"Loot!" I quickly cover my mouth, then scavenge the remains like any decent kobold should.
-
You pick up an assortment of common daily items, like children's toys and handbags. You do find an occasional valuable item from the market stalls, but few and far between
-
I'll keep the valuable items and scavenge for a little longer, then head into the town.
-
I mean, you're in the town already
Walking through the streets, you see more items strewn about, but no people or animals at all
-
Oooh. My bad LOLth
I'll keep a lookout for movement, and head further in. Are there any damaged buildings around or ahead?
-
The buildings you see are mostly intact, though some have scratches upon closer examination. A few doors hang on their last hinges, unmoving
-
I'll keep moving, and look for anywhere like a bank or blacksmith's shop I could scavenge.
-
You can see a small bank up ahead, its windows shattered and the glass strewn across the pavement in front of it
-
I'll look around as I walk across the street, just checkin my surroundings, and head inside.
-
Nothing outside moves, but once you enter a small squeak echoes through the building, and a small rubber ball rolls across the floor from your right a few seconds later
-
"Hello? I'm here to help." I'll walk to my right with my hands up to show I'm unarmed
-
You see a staircase and a flash of red at the top as something runs around a corner
-
It might be a trap, so I cautiously ascend the stairs, checking if they hold my weight and such.
-
All the stairs hold, but you see scratch marks on the walls. You see the flash of red disappear into a room at the end of the hall
-
I'll take my time as I head to the room, trying to be as quiet as I can.
-
You see more scratch marks, but nothing attacks you as you reach the room
-
I'll knock on it gently. "Hey, I'm coming in. I'm here to help, I promise."
-
You hear shuffling as whatever is in there moves away
-
I'll open the door and walk in with my hands up.
-
You see a young child in red hurl a small check book at you
-
I don't try to dodge it. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?"
-
As you look at the boy, you see his tear streaked cheeks as he shakes his head mutely
