As a day one destiny one player with I disagree with you. Sunsetting sunsetted all interest I had left. My gear matters and whether you like it or not I am opposed to them making all those masterworks and all those mats spent master working useless.

  • what else would you have done with the mats? you used them how you saw fit, used the weapons as well. what interest would you have to continue playing without moving forward to get new things? I'm honestly asking because it's a very common theme among those who disagree with sunsetting.

  • Ok I'm just going to use an example. You have a dog, it's been yours since you were let's say five, you're now about ten the dog is perfectly healthy and you've got a strong attachment to it and it also shares that attachment to you. I've taken your dog, put it to sleep and sold you a puppy, despite your dog being healthy and fine.

  • that analogy doesn't fit in any fashion. not even in the same realm. your feelings toward a weapon in a game seem a bit unhealthy if you really think that's an appropriate analogy. like I asked, what else would the mats have done had you not masterworked things? you got usage from the gear. you gain new mats, you gain new gear, it's a cycle. how is there a drive to play new content yet only want to use old stuff to do it?

  • It's more about the attachment that has been made to the various players custom characters and custom armor and random perk weapons than the analogy itself. This can be traced back to when Bungie were saying things such as this is your guardian, over time humans form various bonds and sometimes players form bonds with inanimate things because there isn't anything real to bond with. And most of destiny's player base bonded with their guardians and their gear, sacrificing personal time including large amounts of sleep to perfect it like an artist painting his masterpiece only for that masterpiece to get painted over then told to re paint it to how it originally looked.

  • so you have an attachment to something. the sacrificing of time to play a game is a players choice to do so, it's what the game was made for. at no point have you addressed the questions asked, which are very much a part of the reasons to play you claim you've lost. there was nothing else to do with the mats but use them, so you can't really be upset at they did what they were there to do. you used the weapons, getting new things as you go is a part of the reason to play. how would you be more inspired to play continuing to use the same weapons for years? I get the attachment but it seems quite extreme the way so many people feel as if the entire reason to play is making them not want to play in favor of old loot.

  • Only thing I dislike is the armor being trashed. Guns I understand, but why armor whyyyyyyyy ):
