The plot reveals seem interesting, other than that I don't see how anyone is hyped from that stream, they literally announced they're going to remove content and recycle it later. Vault of glass in D2? I already paid for/grinded that content in D1.

bear in mind a lot of us on PC have been asking for them to make D1 for pc, and have NOT played any D1 content. because for us, we pay out 300 or 400 just to play one game? and wind up with a pointless underpowered paperweight when not using D1. plus some pc players still prefer mouse keys or cant get to grips with a controller. put all those problems together, and most pc players wont buy hardware with downgraded graphics to play D1 with a controller. i suspect recycle is bungie attempting to satisfy the players who never played D1 without making either a single player offline game out of all the destiny campaign and dlc story content, or releasing D1 with updated graphics on steam. its also possible if enough players like me rave about the recycled D1 content in year 4 bungie will decide its worth getting someone to port over D1 to pc, because it will sell. i would buy it for sure. and its also possible they are recycling to see not just what was good in the past, but what people say in forums they liked of what they have currently and the past content. they can then say 'okay, thats the kind of mechanics and content we need to make going forward.' remember when criticising bungie, the whole games industry has a serious problem - they can never say 'it aint broke, so let not fix it, but make more'; there seems to be an automatic need to make 'new' as if 'new' must always be by definition better. and then they find that reworking the game mechanisms to new didnt get the community of players up... ooops. because when players want 'new' we want new stories, new weapons, new enemies, new places - not new controls, new version of physics. a lot of people right now complain sprint is broken. idk why it seems the same for me, but my hunch is bungie has by mistake or in good faith, altered whatever default control scheme they had instead of leaving it the same and adding alternatives and letting them change it.

I don’t think they are recycling for pc players to get a D1 experience. Bungie has declared D1 “comic book zero” which means it isn’t wholly canonical anymore. More like an unofficial baseline. I think they’ve retconned themselves into a corner and need to recycle old content due to it.

And Luke also said they are going ruin VoG with champion mechanics

you mean annoying bullet sponges with shields that come up and regen health while you hammer them down again?

Let’s be real, who goes onto mars or io for fun these days, let alone mercury. I couldn’t care much about legacy content, I don’t go on the older patrol zones anymore, Id rather then bring in new content. They are bringing old content alongside new content too. Every new expansion will bring new areas, I’m cool with that. I don’t mind seeing D1 content on D2’s upgraded engine, will I play it as much? Prolly not, but cycling strikes is a cool idea to save manpower.

You say you don't wanna play legacy content, but then say you'd play some D1 shit.......

mars yes. escalation protocol is much fun. mercury... i want destroyed. its part way there, but osiris likes the underused infinite forest. if that forest had had proc gen levels, and been a sort of infinite level darkspace with some really cool secrets and loot, and you could have used sparrows on it from the start, it might be hard to justify removal. but they didnt use this powerful plot device land, where anything is possible. the sundial of all things seemed like what the forest should have been, only the forest more so. io, well aside from the campaign and seraph bunker... asher mir is a good enough reason to avoid the place. its not exactly memorable, even with the pyramid ships. titan i like, but... again most of it is unused, except in some story missions. there is a worm god swimming around but we cant kill it, probably because bungie cant work out a way for guardians to fight underwater, with no solid ground, against a giant worm with no rasputin javelin overload weapon. i can see why its going. but what you dont consider is, unless they figure out some sort of megacutscene, new players are going to be very confused about the past history referred to in d2. some wont care, but others will spend a lot of time saying 'what did zavala mean?' or ikora. and their reviews will say 'but the game characters refer to a lot of stuff i cant seem to find to play it. its confusing' i dont see why keep nessus unless its because if they dont, then the vex literally have nowhere to find them or be part of the upcoming story. i like failsafe, but if we were honest we would have tried to move her to the city by now. asher mir even says 'a golden age AI and youre just letting it sit there? whats wrong with you?"

Destroy Mercury!! Yeeesssss
-
If you’re worried about new players experience then they should bring all D1 content to keep them up to date with the world of destiny. Because anyone just jumping into destiny 2 is gonna be confused with everything. Why is savathuun mad, why is queen mars dead, what are these siva references, etc.

Luke is all out of options. They seem desperate. Bringing VoG back, after they said D1 was just folklore and dismiss anything about it. They said D2 was a fresh start..... They didn't know what the darkness was. The Stranger was erased from the game entirely.... It's a big ol joke..............yet very saddening for anyone who has been here the entire time.
-
if you heard him, and listened, you would remember his admission that the new start with players losing everything and changes to the game systems with d2 'was a mistake we took a year to recover from'.
-
They weren't talking about folklore man....or the darkness. They were talking about our shit and the game itself. That's why they aren't doing D3 and will continue the Destiny Universe as a single game. That's what shoulda happened the entire time, that was the mistake. Not D1 being folklore, them having no idea what the darkness was, or anything bout the Stranger......

If they add enough new content with the old content I'd be excited, especially for people who missed out on D1. If they only recycle old content it would be a complete waste of space on your hard drive, only time will tell.

Can't wait to do sepkis prime for the 40,000,067th time
-
Bruh, you really expect them to spend time making something new when they can just sell you something old knowing people will buy it?
-
but...but vog is free to all players...
