And... what exactly stopped you from getting Devil’s Ruin when you could?

Some of us, who I dont know.. are in the Militarily and deployable, could miss out on quests and items due to being deployed in combat zones and not have access to certain things. So to miss out on one or more seasons at a time due to what ever reason, it really sucks.
