A shotgun loaded with OO buck would pose a serious threat, I would think. Could even a Jedi simultaneously intercept nine lead pellets?
And shotties are basically 19th century tech. Imagine what the future version would be like...
A shotgun loaded with OO buck would pose a serious threat, I would think. Could even a Jedi simultaneously intercept nine lead pellets?
A Jedi Master can...but it would take his full focus to do it. Thus distracting him from attack from elsewhere. IIRC, a Jedi Master who wasn't a combat specialist died in a duel with Asajj Ventress in part because he was essentially overwhelmed by having to deal with her, and trying to fight off attacks from flechette throwers at the same time. What made it interesting was what went on in his head when he realized that he was going to die in the fight. As he wrestled with the urge to tap into the Dark Side to try to save himself.....or hold true to the Light Side. Even though he knew his death would be the outcome, and accept that death as The Will of the Force.
And shotties are basically 19th century tech. Yes they could. A lightsaber+Jedi reflexes+one broad stroke=a wasted shotgun shell

Edited by Sylver: 6/2/2020 7:12:56 PMEhh, I actually think not. The average shotgun projectile travels at around 427 m/s. The human hand can move up to 65 m/s. Let’s say, hypothetically, you have 1 meter of space to deflect the projectiles (not out of range but not too close to restrict saber usage). The projectile would clear this space in about .0023 seconds. Let’s say there is about .2 meters of space between each of 6 fragmented projectiles. You would need to move your hand at 521 m/s, or 1190 mph, to deflect each fragment. That’s about Mach 1.5. 65 m/s < 521 m/s. Admittedly, you may be able to deflect two projectiles by lining up your saber to hit both of them, but any more would be physically impossible. Edit: I also didn’t account for the time it would take to change direction in the motion of your hand. That’s when the impossibility gets astronomical.

Yep. Basically I just think, “Force beats everything.”
