I was at 90 percent completion on one with no fails and then one of the giant servitors teleported right off spawn onto the plate as it was going off. It just made me give up any hope and realize that they don’t know what they are doing

They designed it this as a massive road block, something to chew on until the Next Big Story Beat that the players can actually enjoy without the stress of having to work against the game to obtain something. It's the only reason I can think of that makes any sort of sense as to why they thought the issue was the CHAMPIONS and not the bosses that require three people shooting at it to kill in the same amount of time. My recommendation is to build up a lobby of people, make a party chat and invite whoever joins your instance. Hope they open up their fireteams and slowly trickle people in, nine seems to be maximum but with everyone co-ordinating it should go better for you than with randos.

There's still time, if you ever find the will to play the dang video game. Which is a sad state to be in frankly, time as well for bungie to listen and provide a way for people to group up and communicate into an activity that clearly needs it.
