Uhhh bastion is fine. Do you want trials to be all shotguns?! Bastion counters shotguns very easily in the right hands, but you can also get killed if you mess up the charge time.
The ONLY thing that I can say bastion is too strong in is killing supers. Whenever I hear a super activate and I see 2 shots in my bastion, I laugh. 9/10 times I’ll kill or trade with the super. A little too strong but that’s it.

I watched a kid with a 0.5 kd put on a bastion and has been a 1.2 since. A single gun should never do that...

Probably because people don’t know how to counter bastion. And if your friend had a 0.5 kd, he’s probably playing against people at a low skill level. Which means they don’t know how to counter anything. Just bait the charge time. It’s a damn fusion rifle.

Trials kd fluctuates. You could get stomped by a team way better than you and your kd drops. Or you could face a team of lower light scrubs who feed you a better kd. Very inconsistent. You shouldn’t really ever use trials kd as an example. Also, most people in trials love to ape with a shotgun. Astral horizon, mindbenders, you name it. Bastion is a natural and easy counter to SHOTGUNS. Just charge and backpedal and you should be able to kill them. Simple enough for a 0.5 kd. Bastion won’t really work if their using Antaeus, stompies, or flying wildly around in the air (top tree dawnblade). As they can close the gap very fast and kill you with a shotgun. Lastly, it’s possible your friend found bastion to be the gun that works for his play style the best. Or he just got better at the game.

Nope. Runs out of ammo or plays private match with me without bastion and he’s instantly a bot again. It’s broken. Has held a 1.2Ish kd in trials the last 2-3 weeks through many games. It aint a fluke, bastion is to blame.

Yeah whatever dude. Bastion deletes apes who use shotguns easily and that’s it. It can be countered. It has a charge time, it’s biggest weakness. Just bait and kill. If you can’t counter bastion, it’s gotta be a you problem buddy. Also, not everyone can pick up bastion and wreck shit with it. I’m good with it. But the other two teammates I play trials with are bad with it, and that’s fine. Its a niche weapon. It’s also worth mentioning that when I use it my performance does not change. Not everyone is the same as your friend.

Not just me. All my highly skilled clan mates complain about it. Just look at the trials numbers this week, 3rd most common weapon used. I expect that to at least persist and probably rise higher in the following weeks. It aint a niche weapon for a select few, it’s easy mode and soon everyone is gonna realize that if they havent already.

That’s because your clan mates are used to playing against shotguns and snipers. (not saying they’re bad). That’s all this meta has been this past year and a half. Give it time. Once people realize that aping against a gun that hard counters aping is stupid, they’ll change their view.

Get good and combat around it. Obviously you shouldn't try pushing someone using bastion.

He's right. It's not hard to counter it if you're not a mindless shotgun ape. Bait the shots, get past them before they fire the shot, etc.

I'm well aware of what happens after the first pick. Personally, I swap between bastion and chaperone, and bait. It's easy math: you get close with your shotgun I'm going to end you. In fact, if you're charging me trying to get a pick my team is collapsing on you.
