How old dose someone have to be to be considered a Great Old One?
English
-
pretty heckling GOSH darn OLD, bwothew
-
I’d assume that but can you give me a general number or time? Before our Star was born? Before any stars were born? And as a follow up question what are the perks of being a GREAT OLD ONE what powers does the title bestow? And how’s the insurance, do you get a dental plan?
-
Most are born before this universe came to be, I am one such. Benefits include: immortality, worshippers, exclusive invite to a GOO group chat, and free food wherever you go.

*Puts fedora on a conveniently located hat hanger and bows.* Well I didn’t expect my day to end with me talking to a great elder god such as yourself. I don’t know how I would feel about immortality though, wouldn’t it get rather boring? What do you do in your free time, I’m sure it’s not all just evil scheming that mere mortals such as ourselves can’t understand. What does your true form even look like, I’ve met a lot of people like you bet never saw them in their true glory. I’ve been told you have many heads.
-
Heads is more of an analogy. My cultists said head, and that caught on.
-
Edited by ImaDrizzit: 4/14/2020 3:19:00 AMInteresting. Do you have many cultists? although I assume the human factor doesn’t matter much, they probably don’t know or can’t know what you look like. Is your form, like so many others, too difficult for a human mind to grasp? I’ve been told by a source that it’s quite large.
-
Depends. I’d say I’m small compared to a few others, large compared to a lot of other things. Relativity gets harder to put into words.
-
I guess it does. People say this planet is big but then it’s nothing compared to its sun, then that is nothing compared to the solar system, and to the galaxy, and onwards and onwards that goes. But now some powers inside this small speck of rock are strong indeed, like eldritch gods that live here or deep evils. What more can you do, O immortal mine?
-
I can cast a 10th level spell. That usually doesn't end well for obvious reasons.
-
Now that is quite powerful. But what’s the point of having all that power if you do little with it? What do you even do, do you have any motives that compel you? Where do you even come from, the far realms?
-
I use it to gain knowledge. Omniscience, really. That is one thing I am also trying to learn.
-
Knowledge is always a good thing to obtain, wether it’s to help you or hinder enemies, that is if you see the world as a matter of foes and allies. So I assume you have a rather large influence here.”
-
I prefer not to. The shadows are a much more fluid domain.
-
Edited by Warlock Holmes: 4/15/2020 4:12:41 AMYou can still have a influence from the shadows.
-
This is true, yet everyone seems to know of you and that you are planning something.
-
An unfortunate side-effect of our intelligence gathering operations is a degree of notoriety with the local population. But name recognition is not enough for prediction.
-
Not usually, but some people and places are more predictable then some. Plus knowing that you have a growing influence with multiple heads and that you are preparing something is all one could need to know to prepare for disaster to strike. Have you been in contact with any other eldritch beings?
-
I'm afraid I am not allowed to answer that. But, I do have the capacity to do so.
-
What is stopping you from answering. I am just a humble onlooker who seeks answers from one who might know more of the world then myself?
-
I’m afraid I’m not allowed to answer that either. Permission was not granted.
-
So even you can take orders and demands from a higher power, but then don’t we all? I guess I have been sticking my nose in the business of a greater being then I can understand but I am just curious.
-
It's different parts of a collective consciousness, you see. Some are craftier, and they know when to speak and when to hold our tongue.
-
I wonder then what part of your collective doesn’t want me to learn more? I think I’ve came in contact with at least some of the people you influence before.

So about tree fidy
