I think we all know how this will end.
Generically.
Like every other story that has a bad guy and good guy, then the bad guy is misunderstood and the good guy isnt really all that good etc etc.

It will. It will give us the ultimate choice of deciding our Destiny, but then the choice is basically the same just a different color.

The way mass effect ended was perfect for the story they set up

The perfect ending is the "destroy" ending, where Shepard is alive in the end. The only thing missing from it, is Anderson saying "Shepard" since that would bring us all the way back to the beginning of the game when Shep was knocked out. From there, it would just loop over and over again. You've already seen what happens so you may make different decisions, but you will have to pick Blue or Green. Giving up the fight, and losing. Fighting for the Destory ending only loops you back into infinity unless you choose to lose.
