They did explain the word-line nerf, even if they didnt its the same reason why they nerfed titan skating, you are going faster then the devs intended, i mean out of all their nerfs they are in the right to do this nerf, it hurts no-one in their playerbase, you say it hurts speedrunners but you never used it in the way its intended to so you exploited something. My point is that the nerf was justified and makes sense, they can decide.

  • The wordline exploit is not what made the game fun, in fact now i think consoles are a little closer to the unfair speedrun and worlds first communities

  • for alot of people who speedrun, yes, it is what made the game fun. it added replayability to almost every activity which is good for the game. consoles are still gonna be worse for WR speedruns and WF raid attempts have not been affected at all. no one serious used worldline for WF raids. there are plenty of cases where the developers of a game turned a bug into a feature for because the player base liked it.

  • Bungie has a right to fix whatever bugs they find in the game, so what if they patch a un-intended thing, they can do that and they have done that plenty of times in the past, remember titan skating? So what if they fix something unintended stop whining about it, its not your game its bungies.

    except they screwed over a ton of dedicated players who put in thousands of hours practicing by removing something that only affected the very top players. hell, they never even came out directly and said that they were nerfing it. dmg only eluded to it by saying that people will need new ways to move fast *WHEN* he was asked. titan skating affected pvp very negatively as well, where as swordskating was a gimic. they aren't comparable. no, i was talking about how respawn entertainment kept slide hopping, a fun mechanic that added depth to the game rather than removing it. just as slide hopping and its movement makes titanfall 2 more fun and unique, worldline and sword skating made destiny's movement fun EDIT: it made destiny's movement more fun and unique. the speedrunning community isn't as small nor as exclusive to pc as you think either. there are plenty of people who ran on console (albiet they use api times and are not as optimised.) whats the point of speedrunning anymore if you can't beat a previously established time?you can still speedrun yeah but its not nearly as fun, and the skill gap is far more compressed. the nerf hurts the weapon itself as there is pretty much no reason to use it now. it lost its only purpose. it would have been not nearly as bad if they removed sword skating but kept worldline skating but instead they completely neutered the weapon.

  • Ill be honest, I dont care everything you said would be important if this was your game, but it simply isnt, i dont know why you keep arguing understand this ITS THEIR GAME AND THEY CAN DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH IT if they want to fix a unintended feature they can if they want, if something is doing something it isn’t designed for then it can be fixed. The speedruning community has tons if sections im not stupid there isnt only 1 set time for all activities, just as there were exploit sections that exploit parts of the maps that can be glitched through to prgress faster there are speedruns that actually do everything legit. There was a set time fir when wordline was used and now their will be a section were new times can be made by not using it, its not the end of speedruning. Wordline still wasn’t used as often as you think its a sword and is therefore useless in PvP since the only good PvP sword is black talon, but wordline can be useful in PvE for clearing out groups of weaker ads (which is the point of some power weapons) its temporal sprint does a Circular attacks that kills everything in a 360 degree circle. I dont like defending bungie but when players feel entitled they need to be shutdown and understand this isnt their game to decide what should be in it, its the developers, although they may have bad ideas at time (like how trials isn’t protected from cheaters well) they have the right ti fix unintended issues, as well the devs did say they were going to patch the wordline bug (its a bug since it was never supposed to do that and it was exploited so it soon became a exploit) dont act like they never said it

  • i meant before the day of the update. a massive change like that should have been mentioned before the very day of the update. i agree that this game belongs to bungie and they have the right to do with it as they please, but i also believe that people who play the game, especially players who have poured alot of time and effort into the game have the right to speak up about changes that they do not like, even more so if those changes nullify the effort they poured in, eg: worldline being nerfed, not forgotten being nerfed and becoming easier to get and izanagi being nerfed, which removed a very skillful meta.

  • That wasn’t mentioned a day before the Update, that was just the place i got it from which they show patch notes on days of updates and say what they plan ind doing weeks before, i found that one because it was the first one i found

  • Izanagi and Wordline are not difficult to aquire at all, especially wordline, its not even a quest its a challenge. NF wasnt nerfed it was its RPM type, wordline was not this massive part of the game, it was barely used for any activity, and if the players had a say in everything (which as ive told you before speedruns are not a large community in D2) what do you think the meta would be right now? It would be insanely broken, with weapons being pure laser beams, because every-time a weapon was nerfed because it was OP it was wanted to be reverted (im talking PvP not PvE) and everytime there was a nerf there was a buff to another weapon putting it in the meta, if what you want would happen then eventually the game would reach a point were TTK would have to keep being decreased.

  • I am, you included that wordline would be useless, it already was the least used weapon but its still not useless, it has use but its abilities are useless. I read your post and responded accordingly, i dont care if you got a response you didn’t want.

  • also, yeah it is bungie's game, but that does not mean we can't speak up if they are making decisions that we don't like. by your logic, people shouldn't have complained about luna's howl and not forgotten, nor about recluse, nor should they complain about the game being about farming bounties since thats what bungie wants for the game.

  • You are obviously talking about Bethesda since they are known for that, do you really think Bungie should be similar to Bethesda? As well the speedrun community isnt as big as you think, it is only on PC and has a certain % of players in it, there may be reddits and stuff for it but consider how many active users there are. Wordline does not add any reason to replay a activity, Speedruning itself causes that (so dont act as if you still cant speedrun). This wordline nerf hurts no-one you can say it hurt speedruns but you can still do them.

  • It hurts a lot of people actually, the same people who figure out and find new mechanics to complete your 4 hour leviathan. Yes you can glitch out the map but you have to complete every single encounter. Maybe when you learn about the game you will look back and appreciate these things. I know you will reply with something dumb because all you casuals wine about everthing that you can't do because it is to hard "skating".
