Two hours ago I was banned while playing my first match in Trials of Osiris. I was going against a streamer and I had an offensive name at the time. I had that name as a joke and I currently do not know if I could get banned for that. I had that steam name for almost a week and did not get any warning about it. I would have changed it if I knew the repercussions. I have since then changed my steam name. I now recognize how offensive the name was. I am only just a teenager (16) and was using that name as a joke to my friends. I do not know if that was the reason I got banned, but I have changed it since then. I was also accused of cheating by the streamer. I have played this game for 6 years (since D1 Y1 launch) and would never even think of cheating. I have put countless hours and money into this game and now I cannot even play it anymore. I have made so many friends and memories on both games. I did put an appeal for the ban, but I do not know if I put the correct information of my account and do not know how long it would take for them to respond. I am posting here just in case the appeal was inaccurate. My steam ID is Gutsy (ID: 76561198974716610) . Thank you for any help and information.

Have you been unbanned? I need to know so I know if there is hope because I was also banned for no reason.

You may not get a response.

17 Repliessaw the stream... not really a funny joke. while probably not the reason you were banned, it should have been, 16 is plenty old enough to know what is decent.

2 RepliesYou seriously think that kinda name is a “joke”?

Bans are generally due to having a program running at the same time as Destiny that shouldn't be. These can be, but are not limited to: trainers/aimbots/cheats/debuggers. Any software used for programming even if it is used for school/work. The previously listed do not need to be intended for Destiny, just having them running at the same time is a big no-no. Some viruses can cause issue. Playing in a premade team with those that are cheating is a no-no. Manipulating network traffic to gain an advantage is a no-no. It is very possible that you receive no response, but all appeals are taken in order of receipt and handled during Bungie's normal business hours. With Trials having just been released, I suspect that there is an influx of bans and as such, appeals as well.
