This was intentional. They said they are going to try and bring some back in the guture... possibly. But the quote was something like "some aspects of emblems had to be broken in order to prepare for a brighter future with their stat tracking." This was a design change, just dont feel alone, there have been a bunch of complaints about it already. It probably isn't going to be "fixed" any time soon.
