I would advise you not assume that it's our character and ghost who are featured in the tab, given that we hadn't yet spoken again at that point. I always assumed the lore tab was the Guardian that forged Crimson from Red Death in the aftermath of the Red War.

I was unaware that it was forged from red death, I thought they were just similar guns

Red Death was a fun created by a mad Guardian for killing Guardians. This Guardian is not the same one. Ergo, he likely went scavenging for a weapon he knew had healing capabilities, found it in a rough state and had to alter it. Ergo why it still fires a three round burst.
