Dawnblade is Bungie’s take on the warrior angel archetype.
What you’re asking for is not consistent with the inspiration of the subclass.

You’re asking to use a melee weapon: 1. In a game that is primarily a shooter. 2. In a subclass that is designed for aerial and ranged combat. Titans are the game’s melee class. 3. You have swords, so you can do that anyway if you want to expend your heavy slot for it.
