Yea, this post is an example of no matter what bungie does, some people in the community will complain just to complain. I say that because most havent upgraded/masterworked armor sets because of the element/last mod slot. It's useless and a waste of materials right now. We voiced that to bungie, they listened and are making a change that benefits us. The fact that we can change elements and that the last mod slot will be able to use all seasonal mods, means we dont have to grind for so many different sets/materials. Yet, here you are going on a rant about potential material costs that wont affect the majority, just cause. Lol no, just no.
Some of yall really need to stop looking for reasons to be upset. I'm talking about life in general, not just bungie/the game.

Nope, sorry dude, this affects me massively and it does many others. It doesn't affect you? Fine, jog on.

Edited by whateverman7: 2/16/2020 8:18:28 PMYou arent speaking for many cause many people arent masterworking gear, you're only speaking for yourself trying to apply it to many. And speaking for yourself: how many sets do you have that you're gonna change? If you have a lot, why are you changing them? Asking because if you masterworked them in the first place, knowing the material costs, you obviously wanted to keep them, so why would you change them? As for whether it affects me: you're right, it doesnt cause like many, i havent been masterworking gear unless it's gear i know i want to keep. Since i already know i want to keep it, i'm not gonna be spending a bunch of materials to change it.
-
Yeah, so it does affect me and it does affect many - there's a high level of upvotes here and high number of supporting posts by all kinds of people who are faced with it. Is it a majority? No, I didn't say it was. The restrictions are arbitrary, unnecessary and restrictive and I would see them removed preferably. But it doesn't affect you, you're into trolling mode, have a good day.
-
So, 229 (at the time of this response) is many when talking about the destiny community as a whole? Lol aight man. Naw, i dont do that trolling shit, it's stupid to me. The change is in the game, so of course it will affect me since i play the game, but like i stated: most havent been just masterworking gear/spending materials. I asked you legit questions that came to me after reading your op and response to me; but since you probably dont have answers that wont go against your op, you not gonna answer by claiming i'm trolling. Lol ok, that's cool. You have a good day as well guardian.

There's no such thing as a silent majority.
-
But there is a vocal minority.
-
There is no vocal minority either.
-
Right. Think these forums are proof to both.
-
No they're not. "Silent majority" and "vocal minority" are both assumptive fallacies that erroneously correlate a lack of data as being evidence of support for one's own bias. I could say there's a silent majority of players who hate the changes and people like you are a vocal minority and it'd be just as fallacious as your own arguments.
-
First, let me say I dig the vocab. As for what we're talking about: you're right, there is no proven, scientific method when it comes to silent/vocal minority/majority. All we can do is go off responses (or lack there of) to whatever is vocalized, and makes estimates. In the case of what the op is vocalizing, i would state he/she's in the minority. Most that play the game havent masterworked gear they are going to change and/or arent gonna masterwork gear then change the element.
-
Didn't read what I said, inserted your own BS strawman argument. High number of upvotes here, for this forum. And the hundreds more in other posts. If this place is a sampling of the wider community it reflects a major concern. You like having absolutely arbitrary restrictions put on you - good for you. If you want to pay VAST amounts just to buy another set of arbitrary restrictions - good for you.
-
Naw, i read what you said and responded to it. And naw, I didnt insert anything, that's you and trying to change what 'many' represents. Anyway, i have more legit questions: why would you wait to change the element after you masterwork gear? Why not change it before you masterwork it, since it would cost less materials? But i already know, you wont answer these, just like you didnt answer the others. Maybe you'll continue to tell me what i like/dont like lol.
