They haven't told us about all of the changes yet. It's best to wait for the full patch notes before you come to any conclusion.

The energy required for actions is enough to ruin it.

In my opinion, that depends on how fast it comes back. The energy mechanic is only tied to heavy attacks and blocking. They're trying to make light attacks stand out and they said that they're changing damage values. We don't know what those values are yet. They could be increasing heavy attack damage for all we know.
