I agree with everything said here. And what I love the most right now is that all the comments are actually decent and appreciative of the time put into your post. All the toxic players clearly didn't have the patience to read it all, but I hope Bungie does. I've made posts much like this in the past and I've wished that I was heard. The part of all of this that makes it so frustrating is as you said, much of it was done a decade ago so why can't they do it now?
Since D2 launched I complained that the campaign was no longer available...like what the Hell happened to the map markers from D1 that allowed you to replay any mission, from any era, at any time? I literally would just go and play my favorite missions when I was bored. Hell, my buddy and I went into D1 a month or 2 ago and did exactly that for nostalgia.
So many changes could easily be made to this game to make it follow the right path for both veteran and novice players, it's not hard to find balance. So again, hopefully your post makes a difference.

Thank you and could not agree more on missions. Like you pointed out, they had it in D1 and it worked, why throw that away. I think of all the millions of dollars they must have spent on the D2 campaign and all the marketing around Ghaul, the farm, etc and none of it mattered after the first week. One of the things I brought up for the summit was Halo's replayable Campaigns at different difficulties. I'll never understand why they didn't add that for Destiny when they could've created unique rewards (gear, vanity items, emblems, etc) for completing it on harder modes. We played the hell out of Halo's just for the challenge alone.
