Same thing happened to me after being in a game for an hour. Couldn't rejoin. Also on Xbox. Did a finisher, enemy died as the finisher animation was finishing, and it killed me. Then my teammate revived me and the game froze. Super frustrating as I spent all that time for NOTHING.

  • I've noticed that the game freeze doesn't happen every time. I'm wondering about a few things. When you died, how fast did your teammate get to reviving you?

  • I died doing a finisher on a your typical vex and my teammate revived me almost instantly, so I'm thinking the fast revive coulda tripped the game up. I was fine for 1 second after being revived. Started running and *freeze*

  • Sounds like my case. That gives me something to test then. I think I'll go test it in the Tribute Hall with someone soon. If I get the game freeze to trigger again, then I'll let everyone know.

Just tested it with a friend against a Simulated Harpy in the Tribute Hall. We triggered the finisher suicide by having my friend kill the Harpy while I started to use a finisher on it and then I had him revive me as fast as possible. Then the game froze again. It did not freeze on my friend's end though. The fast revive does seem to trigger the game freeze and I managed to record it all. Now I'm working on putting it together so I can share it here in this post. If I were to guess what is happening, it probably involves something with how finishers use a select target and something about the enemy's body disappearing causes the target to shift to the Guardian, which might have some unwanted side-effects. What I think is the main cause is when you are revived fast enough, you then have two bodies present, the dead one and the reviving one, and that is what I think triggers the game freeze because it might be getting confused. Another thing to note is that when a finisher is interrupted, the enemy that was getting finished will sit there immune for a good moment. Not sure if that is something affecting the Guardian or not. EDIT: Still working on putting the video up somewhere. I don't have anything set up yet and I've been busy lately. I haven't forgot about it.

  • Another scenario happened to me earlier today. Except it was with the taken and cabal and the game didn't freeze. So far it's only happened to me with the Vex twice. How does this happen so often to me? Teammates don't have good connection sometimes or it happens at the exact moment. I'm starting to think I should stop using finishers. Even on heavy targets regarding the vex if it means there's a possibility for a game freeze. Thanks for testing it out and I hope it gets resolved.
