So, strikes.... you want to play strikes... with more people? 🙄

Gambit Light and strikes are fundamentally different, what I've described is nothing like a strike at all.
Gambit Light and strikes are fundamentally different, what I've described is nothing like a strike at all.
You’ve described a strike.... with a twist.... With other people competing to see who finishes the strike first lol. The invading is what makes gambit fun. Not endlessly killing hordes of enemies 🙄

Invading is what makes Gambit fun... For you. As a reaper, killing hordes of enemies is literally my job in Gambit Prime, and I enjoy it. You're essentially saying that not only is the invader mechanic is the only thing that separates Gambit from Strikes (and I know you can't possibly think that's true), but that's it's the only mechanic that matters. Gambit is more than just invading, there's so much more strategising that must be done, is everyone going to be collecting motes? who's going to focus the blockers? Should we all focus the blockers because they're becoming overwhelming? Maybe I need help clearing adds and our sentry will have to leave their post, maybe I need to decide whether my teammate who just died would be more help alive or would threaten my survivability by trying to save them. Who knows? Perhaps there's a high value target and I need aid from our sentry to bring it down, and our collector will need to be on standby to pick up the pieces. Do I pick up the motes our collector can't because their pockets are full? Or does the sentry leave their post to collect them as I need to clear more adds for our collector once they've banked? There's already so much going on and not once did I mention the invader mechanic throughout that, truth be told, the invader's job is pretty small: Go to the other side > Pick who you're going to kill > Kill them without dying... But when you're not invading you just help the others with whatever their doing and occasionally help the sentry stop invaders on your side, and assuming the invader has balanced their gear towards PvP, they're not going to be as useful helping the reaper or sentry in clearing adds or blockers. This tells me that not only can Gambit work without PvP to make Gambit Light, but Gambit and Gambit Prime probably also need an invader update to further improve on the invader mechanic. To summarise: - Gambit Light ≠ strikes - Reaper, sentry, and collectors are also important - There's a lot that happens backstage to invading - Give invaders and update so they can have more involvement

Edited by WoofinAintEazy: 1/11/2020 6:27:10 PMSorry but you are clueless. You don’t have the Gambit experience as many of the people replying to you. The only reason you dislike invasion is because you don’t know how to properly dispose of them. Simple as that. You just dislike PvP. Well, we dislike people trying to alter the game mode in a major way, because they dislike it, or aren’t good at it. Go play 50+ more matches, learn how to anticipate an invader, and then see if your perspective changes. You’ve hardly touched Gambit, so from my perspective, you just aren’t good against invaders, and that’s fine, but don’t try to hide it. Gambit needs invasions, go do patrols and pick up the easy mode drifter bounties. That way you can work on your infamy without the worry about invasions!
You have a total of 10 invasions...and just as I suspected, you get owned by invaders. Once you learn how to handle invaders, it then makes it fun hunting them down.
The fact that you're so passionate about Gambit that you would actually research my account just to find anything you can latch onto to run this thread into the ground is not only heartless, it's barbaric. Yes, I never used to play Gambit often, this isn't because I don't know how to handle invaders, in fact I play fairly well in crucible, especially for someone using a controller, and I've been playing it more recently because I've found a fireteam that I can work with, we have a dedicated invader who knows the in's and out's of invading, so I don't need to worry as much anymore. The reason I don't like PvP is because of anxiety, which is a much deeper issue than you understand, given you assume it's nothing to do with that; the tense rush of adrenaline you get from invading or being invaded? That rush you enjoy so much? A lot of us don't enjoy it... That's the fight or flight response doing its job, and for many of us, it's a clear sign of danger, nobody's body know they're playing a game, the body just reacts the way it's supposed in the face of perceived danger, and a lot of us react to this danger with panic. I'm not just trying to think of myself, I'm thinking for everyone who experiences the same panic response from direct confrontation, and for God's sake I'm not suggesting to replace your precious Gambit or Gambit Prime gamemodes, so calm down, I'm simply suggesting to create a new PvE exclusive version, that will be displayed alongside Gambit and Gambit Prime. If you don't like Gambit Light, the answer is simple, don't play it, at least you have other competitive options.
