Tone down the frequency of invasions and it would be fine to me.

[quote]Tone down the frequency of invasions and it would be fine to me.[/quote] One invasion is unlocked every 25 motes banked, so each team gets 3 invasions until the Prime Evil appears at 100 -- at that point, the enemy team is given free invasions every few minutes. The latter is a catch-up mechanic intended to allow a good-PVP invader to disrupt an opposing team's efforts to kill their Prime Evil. What really gives the invader the edge is 1) Unlimited Wall Hack 2) Overshield 3) usually LOTS of heavy ammo. Disrupting any of these will lessen an invader's ability to deal damage. Another option -- instead of having invasions on a preset interval after the Prime Evil appears, have them be "earned" by dealing a certain damage amount to the Prime Evil. This will significantly slow down player invasion rates.
