The poor experience of joining late in the crucible is a symptom of the greater disease, quitters...
Others have said for Bungie to disable people from joining late... So let’s say we do that... now, 5 people have to suffer through 8-10 minutes of aggravation for the actions of one.
How much longer are we going to work around and deal with poor behavior.
If you quit a match, you are locked out of match made activities for 30 min, you quit again 24 hrs, 3 times, week ban... after so many times, permanent ban. Zero tolerance.

Edited by Krantzstone: 1/3/2020 12:56:00 AMThis game runs on peer-to-peer, so it's easy as sin to engage in network manipulation to lag opponents out to the point where they get disconnected, or drophack them, or indeed, DDoS them right off the internet, so it's impossible to tell whether someone actually quit the match voluntarily, or whether the opposing team is cheating and simply kicking your teammates. And since you can menu out of PvP matches without losing your match win streak, a lot of people do just that as a way to leave a match without actually leaving the match in the normal fashion. Edited by Synge_X: 1/3/2020 1:03:49 AMThe game has many different errors to help you troubleshoot why it is that you are disconnecting. As well, the game obviously knows when you go to orbit by pulling out a ghost. We’ll just have to agree to disagree on the logistics, but I believe that the game can tell how you’re disconnecting. Plenty of games have had similar measures to curb quitting. All of this is a non-factor anyway because we all know that most of the people who are leaving your match are doing so purposefully.

You can't do that because you screw over players who get zoo error errors

Edited by Synge_X: 1/3/2020 12:54:02 AMThe game has a whole series of different errors that catalog different types of disconnects. The game can most certainly tell when you pull out your ghost and go to orbit, as well the game can tell if you turn off your console or go into sleep mode. let’s say for instance, that none of this is possible, I would gladly take a 30 minute ban for DC’ing, if it would cut back on the epidemic of superfluous quitting that goes on. The game can barely manage putting together fair matches(stomp or be stomped is most common). This all exacerbated by the absolute snowball effect of the gameplay. Zero tolerance is the answer.
