The hitboxes in this game are simply too big. As one of those “unbroken players” you are talking about (although I dont use spare rations, thorn, or mindbenders at least unless I need to in comp) this game is grossly easy, on mnk and controller alike. Controller you get insane aim assist and keyboard and mouse you get no recoil, paired with the huge hitboxes you have a game with a very small skillgap.
Going from this game to other games like Halo reach, R6 siege and especially CSGO, I realize how much Destiny just pampers you. This game isnt competitive for a lot of reasons but I feel like for this game to be taken seriously from a comp standpoint the 1v1 duels simply need to be harder. The gap between a good shot and a average shot in a hand cannon duel just feels nonexistent and it doesnt feel like theres much separating the best from the average or above average since gunplay is so easy.

I get ghost shots all the time. I think they should address the servers before changing hit boxes.

That is ADS bloom causing that. It was added in The Taken King DLC because the Thorn, Last Word, and Hawkmoon were OP durring Destiny 1 year 1 due to thier abilities allowjng them to 2 tap Guardians in the head at scout rifle ranges. Why we still have it on controllers now after Shadowkeep's hand cannon nerfs is a mystery to me. The very reason it was added was to prevent hand cannons from working outside of medium range, but due to the damage drop off nerf we really don't need ADS bloom to be a band-aid on hand cannons anymore.

i play on pc and i get ghost shots all the time. my buddy's say its flinch throwing my shot off even if my sites are aligned with the target. as for spare rations being the best its not because aim assist. its literally the only 150 kinetic you can farm for with random rolls. 140s probably wont see there d1 dmg values return because of kill clip and momento mori rounds so atleast give them close to there old range back.

Over here on console, ghost bullets are even more common. A lot of times, my sights will be clearly, undeniably, indisputably, and unarguably on target, no flinch just firing follow up shots and at least 2/3 bullets fired just miss. It's annoying as hell. I mean just look at this video from Rise of Iron. I know this is like three years old, but hand cannons today are very similar to what they were back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ24eDTg_s4 Most of the time when I ask "How is this okay for a competitive shooter" most of the time I get one or both of the two following excuses. Aim-assist or Inferior hardware, things which don't justify RNG based gunplay in any shape or form.

Oh yeah For sure, Destiny 2 is really easy. Every gun feels so weirdly sticky. I played some overwatch today, realised my aim is garbage since theres no pampering there.

Less competitive. I got Destiny 2 on pc last april and it was my first ever time playing an fps on mouse and keyboard. I played crucible a lot for a few months and by the end of the summer I felt like I could take on any of the best players in a one on one hand cannon fight or sniper duel. I did play 3v3 games against top tier players and held my own, surprising myself. A truly competitive game takes at least several months of learning before you can even consider yourself above average. Take overwatch or cs or rainbow 6, people have been playing those games for years and the divide between the best and the average is clear as day. That is how it should be. I shouldnt be able to pick up a new game and a new input device and have near as much confidence as I do after half of a year.

Is the LTA or the WTA more competitive? If the top 100, say, can beat each other on any given day is that more competitive than having the best players being the best by some margin?

The best players in Halo 3 have on average a KD of 1.2 and constantly trade victories because all they play are players their rank(50). However the skill gap between a 50 and a 45 is very noticeable. Anyone who is 40 or below will be absolutely demolished.
