This is a great post, and it makes sense. On a forum filled with memes and hyperbole this is a welcome change of pace. It’s also very positive, and touches on a lot of issues that get blown way out of proportion.
Weapon balance feels so good right now, and yes there are some weapons that are stronger than the average weapon, but none of them actually feel overpowered because if lost souls can find success with a bow against them by using his brain and developing skills and tactics we all can.
Check out that run on sentence! I’m not even going to fix it because most wont read it, and if they do it says everything that needs saying.
The truth is most players don’t want to. They just want to spew the memes they hear from content creators, but when you watch the gameplay in their content it doesn’t even match what they are saying.
Content creators have to be hyperbolic and polarizing when presenting their opinion. Then they ask us to comment when they could honestly care less what we have to say. [spoiler]Thats just to help their algorithm.[/spoiler] They are trying to attract and energize an audience, not improve the game for the average players.
It’s sucks seeing content creators mobilizing their fans to repeat what they say (most don’t have original ideas which you see immediately when you press them and they link a video) to change the game to benefit themselves. They need lobbies where they can run out of medals against players who have no business being matched with them.

Myself, besides matching people in Asia when I’m on US East Coast, I have not found it great. Don’t get me wrong it wasnt great before either. I just think this them vs us mentally helps no one. Both extremes need to grow up and meet in the middle. Sadly though, nobody wants that either. Just lump people in one group or another. Or in the case of some, block those that don’t agree with you

The fewer players the harder it is to find a match that is close and is close in skill. I too agree with the idea the best thing for the community would be a compromise that benefits the most players.

I am criticizing their actions. I don’t think what they spend the money they make through their actions justifies their actions. Don’t try and straw man me. I never said they want the game to be bad and fail. They want it to change to suit their personal preferences and what will allow them to be more financially successful creating content. 1. Viewers do want to see high kill count games. If content creators can’t provide it they lose viewers and get a reputation of being BAD. The players with the most viewers aren’t even the best players in the game. They are entertaining, CBMM benefits them because viewers find high kill games entertaining. 2. The average players wants high kill games. SBMM doesn’t keep them from having them. Their own skill does.

Neither of us said the content creators are trying to make the game bad and fail. What actions? Advocating for changes that benefit themselves and not the average player. Creating outrage farming content that gets their audience whipped up and out in the community being toxic. SBMM is for creating fair lobbies. If you don’t want fair lobbies what do you want? Better connections? Well I guess we will need Bungie to create better matchmaking and/or a game that attracts a higher population. If we can’t have that I think it’s best for the average player to be in lobbies against players roughly their skill level.

This guy is the most toxic hypocrite that,s in this community. What else does he mean when he says: "We've seen the "dead game" attacks used to drive the game to suit them and with the growing daily attacks attempting to poison the community perception of PvP" This crying about content creators comes from people who are bad at the game and dont want to face people of different skilllevels. What i want? Good connections, different experiences,a variety of opponents, more alternatives for sbmm, i dont want to meta crutch in 3KD+ lobbies 100 % of the time, i dont wanna play for the PVP D2 Championship all the time, i want my clanmates beeing able to play with me (they cant in my sbmm lobbies) Bungie catered to casuals with year 1 and it nearly killed the game.

I'm well onboard the "PvP is much better" boat, but I do have a measure of sympathy for the good-sport players at the higher end of the skill curve. Mainly because it seems there are a fair number of poor sports up there who simply cant countenance losing. I know citing a streamer/YTer might stick in your craw a little, but Cammycakes made this observation - he'd do well using X loadout, players would switch to <insert meta loadout here> and he'd essentially be unable to counter it. He does likewise.... and they leave in a huff. 😕

The one you’re referring to may encapsulate his moping better, but I prefer the build explanation and then demonstration two fer he posted. It shows you cans out your time effort and brain into a loadout that doesn’t lean on powerful meta loadouts and still have fun, perform well, and get excited to play PvP.
