Comp usage stats where people equip their most effective loadouts:
Fusions: ~1.8%
Snipers: ~ 9 %
Shotguns: ~ 10%
Yes, let's nerf the most underused special artchtype so that we drive more people towards shotties.

PvP exists outside of comp...
-
Outside of comp isn’t significant. You get point for wins or loses lol
-
And there isn't a single non-Comp mode in which Fusions aren't used less than Shotguns lmao.
-
Never claimed that it didn't. I gave my rationale on why I presented comp data.

*special ammo grenade launchers would like to know your location*

Statistics like this are only useful when you trim it to the better players. Too many young kids, ppl who don't play much crucible, etc.
-
Funny here I am at mythic 3 and the past several matches I've been in comp and iron banner as well their has been at least 1-3 erenteil users.
-
Iron banner has a quest step that specifically says use fusion rifles..... and you are shocked to see a handful of fusion rifles while playing iron banner 🤔😂
-
Edited by ALBOBOSS: 11/12/2019 6:30:27 AMAnectodal evidence doesn't mean much. I'll counter you with this. I have about 1700+ (probably half in mythic) matches in comp and I have seen far more shotguns and snipers than I have erentil. But again, this is my personal experience so it can't be presented as evidence.
-
Low comp people are going to be a bit more risky. High comp your going to try and play it as safe as possible because you lose a lot more glory on losses when your in the high rankings than you gain points from wins (which is b.s) so your going to try and use the easiest weapons to get the safest kills.
-
It depends who you are playing. Erentil is fairly easy to use and effective against low to mid tier players. Above that, you are better off running DRB/NF/WC because it will be far more effective.
-
Only reason I'm playing comp is to get nf. Collection item. I just always find it funny when a team is loseing how they quickly switch to erenteil over their nf or lunas.
-
I have NF. Going for unbroken. There are good players that adapt depending on others playstyles and there are those that are maybe not used to the shotty/NF playstyle. Higher skill floor than erentil but greater rewards at the end, especially when facing other good teams.

-
And what can you conclude from this?
-
Fusion rifles, specifically erentil have incredibly high rates of success despite being used significantly less
-
We can't call it rate of success. That implies we are measuring how many of the shots fired resulted in kills and that's not the case. I'd say rate of usage is more correct here and this particular statistic is not surprising given that fusions are frequently used as primaries due to them being close to mid range weapons.
-
Rate of usage is what you provided earlier. Considering getting a kill is the end goal for any weapon, doing so would b a success. Maybe efficiency is a better term. Point is despite having much lower equip numbers, when it is equipped it performs very well.
-
I provided the rate of specials being equipped, not used. We could determine efficiency if we had the number of times it was fired and the instances this resulted in a kill.
-
Destiny tracker shows Erentil at #18 for usage at 1.37% and #14 for total kills at an even 2% in comp matches
-
Yea, seems in line with the info I provided.
-
It seems people get killed by a weapon a few times that they heard is overpowered, and all of a sudden it’s the worst gun in destiny history. I’ve been having this argument in more than a few forum posts, I even had one guy tell me that the data doesn’t matter the gun is just overpowered. There’s even a guy a few posts down that wants Erentil nerfed even though he’s using wormhusk and thunder coil.
-
I've been having arguments like this with people since destiny launched. The it killed me nerf it brigade ruined D1.... and D2.... and they still aren't happy. Maybe guns should just shoot pillows and "You win trophies"
-
Best part is, I don’t even use the gun. I have 2 in my vault and the last time I used one was for the first iron banner this season for the quest step that needed fusion rifle kills. I just get tired of seeing people put a gun at the top of the list of things that need to be changed in crucible when that gun isn’t even in the top ten on any crucible playlist. It’s the classic “everything that kills me is a crutch but everything I use requires skill and practice!”

Edited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 11/13/2019 10:27:27 PMLmfao exactly!! (Insert weapon here) can counter my playstyle. I do not want to adapt to the handful of people using it. Since I died once it's OP. Bungie nerf it so I can mindlessly ape people with a shotgun better. I don't want to have to look at my radar or listen for sound ques that someone is charging a fusion. 😂
