Whatever is in place is still 100 better than just CBMM.
I played IB with my son and his friend. They are better than me and I found that we were put against better players. I struggles to get kills even though we were winning most matches.
They left and I played solo for a while. I was matched with more similarly skilled players and had more kills and tighter matches.
IMHO it's working as it should (mostly)

If I play with my best friend(he’s around the same skill level as me)the games are absolutely abysmal. Laggy, unbalanced games over and over. It’s feast or famine for us, we’re either bored or on verge of rage from barely being able to do anything but repeatedly take supers, and then there are the poor guys on our team who suffer twice as much for simply being matched with us. These stretches can last up to 10-15 games in a row at times. I can take a beating, but not doing full damage, and watching melees not connect is where I draw the line. I don’t expect, nor do want completely destroy my opponent, I simply would prefer that the game functions properly. I don’t run into these issues as frequently in classic mix, but that playlist is limited. I propose, that SBMM not be disabled for the reasons I stated, but improved or changed dramatically. P

Unfortunately I can't comment the same or agree since in my experiences it not only seems to be working but I rarely experience bad lag. When I do I report the offender(s). I will not play Destiny PVP without SBMM. I avoid the Classic playlist like the plague (because it is). THere are plenty of people who feel the same. I'd rather wait a minute or 2 longer for queues and have a fairer more fun match then deal without SBMM.

Edited by Synge_X: 11/11/2019 9:16:19 PMIt’s not possible to discuss this with you, I never said take SBMM out of the game. if faced with a binary choice between SBMM and CBMM(meaning one would be be prioritized like the way SBMM is prioritized now)... CBMM priority would benefit me, as I can easily demonstrate the difference of experience between classic mix and the rest of the game... I could hold the opinion that SBMM should be removed, but that’s not what I want, because I give a shit about what other people in the community were saying about their experience without SBMM. That’s the difference between your position and mine(as well as MANY others who have reported the same experiences), you’re basically saying “I don’t care that your having a shit experience”, or worse(what you have said before) that I’m lying or have negative motives for sharing my feedback on SBMM. It’s an ugly political battle with nothing but mud slinging instead of positive discussions about finding a solution(such as the ability to choose how we connect to other players like in Halo 3 and reach via speed, skill, or connection). The entire discussion is underscored by a disgusting resentment between the different types of players that this game attracts(PVE/PVP). Being a person who enjoys both aspects of the game equally, it’s sad to see, on top of stifling any progress towards so many positive outcomes for the game Peace, and I’ll agree to disagree X

Well...that's not what I'm really saying but OK on your perception. I'm giving you my opinion just as you are giving yours. My stance was that, disabled or actually removed, I won't play PVP without SBMM. Not sure how you took that simple statement and twisted it into all this other sh!t. Seems you're just angry and I happen to be the one you're taking it out on. We've never had issues before so I don't know what's got you riled up. As far as the politics on CBMM vs SBMM I'll tell you what my perception is and you can take it however you like. 'Most' Pro-CBMM people are pubstompers who don't want to play their peers because it hurts their KD that their Padding. 'Most' Pro-CBMM people think SBMM just created sweaty matched all the time. 'Some' Pro-CBMM people just want quick load times and are willing to deal with the skill gap 'Most' pro-SBMM people want 'fair' matches where the 'matched' skill gap is smaller and the outcome of the match is determined by the push and pull of the match. 'Most' pro-SBMM people don't look at this as 'sweaty' but simply as balanced competition. Which is valued more for them to have fun. I'm sure you and others can add or contest but this is clearly what's been shown on these forums. I'm all for what's best for the game and what they did for Shadowkeep has been great IMO. A total separate playlist for CBMM to play and all others SBMM. Is it perfect? No. Does it need tweaking? Sure. However you'll have a more rounded experience and people now have more of a choice on what and how they want to play. Have a good night.

Edited by Synge_X: 11/11/2019 10:52:07 PMI’m not riled up, I simply refuse to have a discussion about my feedback framed in the context of black and white, good vs evil, pro SBMM(good), pro CBMM(bad), nonsense. My views are obviously nuanced on the subject in contrast to your willingness to dismiss anything I’ve said outside of blind support for the status quo In regards to matchmaking, as well as the wholesale dismissal of tons of player experience, as being Ill intentioned or out and out lies. It’s really not that big of a deal Logan, it’s just a line in the sand. Sometimes we agree sometimes we don’t, I’m just not going to be forced into arguing FOR something I’m not even trying to say, nor support(ANTI SBMM). There are plenty people to have this argument with.

Fair enough. I'm kinda tired of the debate myself.
