I support this comment. I am having CTD with the "Verify game files" bug routinely - most often when transitioning between zones. When this happens I am often unable to access any files on the physical drive the game is installed on (game files not stem install). I cannot see files in folders and root directory files cannot be opened. The entire drive is locked until I do a hard reset. I have toi perform the game file verification even though it never appears to fix or replace any files. I have tried every single proposed fix in the community bar a full re-install on a separate drive. Given the reliable performance of my system in other regards (it runs for days without crashing with other programs) I am positive this is either integral to Destiny 2 or steam; It seriously detracts from peoples drive to play when hours into a raid or group activity one or more players get booted and the activity is screwed for everyone.

  • I don’t bother verifying, restarting the computer if it’s one of the ones I keep getting in the same spot fixes it. Though usually if I just re launch it works fine till some other seeming random location. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • I'm in the same boat as you (including a re-install on a different drive). Would love some official acknowledgement that they're working on this.
