If you get (or have) an Xbox elite controller you can program it so the press of the right stick does nothing. I have it set that way on mine for a similar reason.

I appreciate the suggestion. I've had one before - amazing unit - lasted 1.5 years before dying (I play 50+ hours a week because I'm retired - most normal controllers last maybe 6 months). But I'm not spending $190 Canadian on an Elite Controller just because Bungie can't think there way out of a wet paper bag. Finishers should have been counted as Melee kills.

I have bought a couple off of eBay that were in great shape for much less. There is also a person On eBay that guarantees their repairs (stick drift) of them. And they only charge $40US.
