2 loads, not 3. You can load directly into an activity without going back to orbit.
I feel like you just added that in there to make it sound worse than it really is.

Wrong. You launch into an activity from anywhere, but first it takes you back to orbit.

But you don't have to physically load back into orbit, it's just a transition screen to the next activity.
