Incorrect, most of your fleet was destroyed when I put in my blockade.

Unlike the foolish Galactic Empire, the Republic easily refuels its losses via multiple shipyards, recruitment centers, and factories on many worlds.
-
Apparently the Republic’s intel is out of date...
-
I meant the FIRST Galactic Empire! Do not cite the deep magic to me WITCH.
-
What I don’t understand is why the Republic uses an outdated capital ship model...
-
Not outdated. Superior. Tried and true. With some minor tweaks here and there such as making the command bridge not as conspicuous.
-
*chuckles* If that’s what you call outdated, I’ll stick with my Resurgents, thank you
-
Edited by GiantSlayer: 10/9/2019 1:44:27 PMThere’s also the Nebula-Class Star destroyer, which is in fact of new design. Be wary, your highness. Investing a bunch of resources into large and intimidating machines is what felled the former Galactic Empire. Besides, our forces have fighter Superiority.
-
Once again, your lack of knowledge deceives you. The Resurgent acts as a carrier and a hard hitting capital ship. Along with state of the art shields and our modified TIE fighter and Xwing compliments, not to mention the 1,500 plus weapons on the Resurgent and amazing point defense systems, I think just one of my Resurgents could destroy three of your nebulas or venators.
-
All of that seems costly... Tell me, how do you plan to maintain an army of such size and expense?
-
With low taxes, few regulations, and a booming economy.
-
Few regulations? Low taxes? So you’re relying on the economy? I don’t even need to face you in battle! You’re killing yourself!
-
Apparently you don’t know how innovation comes about. All I have to do is watch your overbearing government collapse under its own weight! The lower the taxes, the more growth, more growth equals more revenue. Not to mention, more innovation and cost reduction. I may run an Empire, but I’m not a fool like Palpatine was.
-
You still share his overconfidence
-
Edited by Liam_the_Censor: 10/9/2019 2:46:52 PMHis confidence was in fear and overwhelming government control. Mine is in the individual. You, on the other hand, share the hubris of the Jedi before their fall... Edit: I’d also like to add that, installing interdiction technology on ALL your venators is far more costly than a fleet of Resurgent Star destroyers.
-
What hubris? I merely state the GAR is a force to be reckoned with. Besides, we do not stand alone. Mandalore supplies us with warriors and combat advisors, as well as the designs for their ships. Besides, the people know we only attack in self-defense, so any unprovoked attack would be suicidal to your position.
-
Edited by Liam_the_Censor: 10/9/2019 2:49:36 PMI never denied such, I merely stated your overconfidence in military might and overbearing bureaucracy. Also, I forgot to add that installing interdiction tech on all your venators is extremely cost ineffective. Not to mention, a few Mandalorians against millions of clone troopers trained by Mandalorians, I’m confident. Not to mention my personal guard of Spartan IIs.
-
My troops have been personally trained by Mandalorians who have offered their advice in the training program, as for the interdiction tech several innovative developments have allowed us to use it on a much smaller and cheaper scale, allowing us to prevent Frigates and Starshios from entering hyperspace.
-
The same has been done for my army.
also, unless there’s canon information on that, that isn’t possible. There are interdiction mines, and dedicated interdiction Star destroyers. However, as far as I’m aware, there’s nothing on small scale interdiction. And if there was, it wouldn’t be nearly as far reaching, so even if the enemy Capital ships were in line of sight, they would still probably be able to get away.
-
Then I guess we are at a stalemate. Neither of us can beat the other without suffering considerable losses, so I think the best option for both of us would be to preserve peace.
The interdictor generators are only able to stop starfighters and small frigates from jumping to Lightspeed. However, the field is cumulative, so several Venators could stop a Star Destroyer
-
is there anything about this in the lore?
-
I mean, scaled down Technology is rather common. You have the First Order’s mini Death Star used as a battering ram (not to mention the Eclipse), Interdiction Mines and the SPHAT cannons, so it seems possible.
-
All I’ll say is this, all the modifications to the venators is enough to make 1 alone cost more than a Resurgent Star destroyer, which has far more gun emplacements, equal fighter carrying capability, more advanced shields and a better point defense system. The problem with modifying the Venators as much as you are is that you’re trying to make it an Ace of all trades, which simply doesn’t make sense from a cost standpoint. The Resurgent has a bunch of advanced technology, but it is a pretty big ship, however it serves a specific role. For one they don’t have interdiction tech or all the SPHAT cannons. While they invest in anti capital ship weaponry, they aren’t trying to make an Eclipse or an Executor which plays all the roles excellently.
-
You make a valid point. Perhaps I shall update our designs.
