Izanagi's Burden quest bugged (Black Armory Key mold not obtainable)

The Volundr, Gofannon, and Izanami Forge all rewarded their respective keys upon destroying the Post-1st round drones that appear in each of the Forges.
However, it seems that the Lock and Key quest cannot be completed by the Bergusia Forge's completion with the drones, nor with interaction with Ada-1. She does not give you the quest to obtain the key. I have looked to Reddit and other online sources but they are either out-dated or they are having similar problems. There seems to be virtually no solution to this so far.
Others report that more than one character is unable to obtain the quest or so and so, but that isn't the issue here. It's not that perhaps another one of my characters could have obtained the quest accidentally, it's that *none*, not even my main character which has the Lock and Key quest has any access whatsoever to getting the final key.
Is this a bug, or are my friends and I missing something?
If someone is able to clarify or share their experience on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This happened to my friend as well. Bungie how is this quest being fixed to be broken in another step?

5 RepliesEdited by Acos: 10/13/2019 8:38:54 AMUPDATE: A friend of mine pre-Shadowkeep was able to acquire the quest after speaking with Ada-1, *however* they had in their possession the progress quest/pursuit of the Izanami's Forge. I saw them through screenshare as they were tasked with defending the Izanami forge in a non-ignition mission. Afterwards, they visited Ada-1 and received the quest without any problems. It seems that if you had the old quest progression method, and individually unlocked the forges, you are able to acquire the final Black Armory key and therefore unlock the 4 keys in the Lock and Key quest. [b]Note[/b]: The Bergusia (4th Forge in rotation) does *not* award the Black Armory key. The final key for the Lock and Key box is unlocked from a separate but connected quest. It could very well be that because the Forges rotate, and we do not individually unlock them as they once required (as my friend did before Shadowkeep), that the game system is made to believe that we already have completed the quests for them. Basically: if you didn't have the quests to unlock the forges for Ada-1 by completing their respective challenges before Shadowkeep (and after the Gofannon Forge's unlock), and it's your first time trying to get the gun, then it's impossible as the Black Armory Key mold quest requires the old content which is currently inaccessible. I hope this helps identify some variables at issue for anyone attempting to discover/implement a fix. This is what I have witnessed with my experience. To the kind devs at Bungie, please provide us with a fix! We Guardians are dying to get this exotic!

As much as I understand the struggle on dev side, it's difficult to justify about a month of delay in fixing the most sought after raid gun in the game now, fix this ASAP and compensate people who've been wasting time on this (a lot, of time, same for jotunn) please and thank you.

Dunno if this is already out there but do not abandon the quest. It will only completely revert your progress, and you still wouldn't be able to use the keys. I don't understand why they would include in the latest patch notes that we can now abandon the quest if all it does is make it worse. It feels like they're straight up trolling at this point.

I used all four keys and not a single one worked. Can’t even obtain the Bergusia forge one anymore cuz it was with the quest. Bungie should just complete the box for the people that might be getting screwed rn.

1 ReplyThis is lame, you time gate the progress behind rotating forges, then when you finally do the quest step on the day it's available, and insert the key, it says the armory lock is open, but the progress marker is empty, and Ada-1 just babbles on about the same black armory bull shes been spouting from day one with no obsidian crystal quest step.....c'mon Bungie...your better than this.....at least I thought.

Someone please explain to me how the hell a game that focuses on questing and grinding mechanics has a quest they is repeatedly bugged? Are the devs not playing their damn game? Just slap a piece of tape on it and fall it good and hope everything turns out okay! Lazy bullshit. The grind is fun when it's rewarding, but to grind and then have your progress erased upon completion is complete trash.

happened to me as well all keys completed except last one that i just completed :L unable to get the mold back and im just stuck in izanagi limbo :C

4 RepliesThis is beyond frustrating. Finally got the key mold, wait three days to get the key, insert it, and it didnt do an anything! Now I dont even have the mold anymore and my rare bounty that I had to run 25 forges to complete expires in a few days!!! This isn't fair Bungie.

So, waited for 3 weeks since I have back from the break of not enjoying playing the destiny 2 in season 5. It turns out I should never came back and play it or get it before I left then everything should be fine. For the quest itself is frustrating, to get all the forges completed at maximum temper and with a rare drop bounty to process. I thought I was lucky to be able to get the rare bounty very quickly (2 days before ). And I thought I can finish the exotic and continue the raid grinding. So, when the forge is launched, I went in and find out the bug is fixed but with additional other new bugs. Despite this new bug, the quest for complete the weapon is also stupid. I don't want to wait for another three weeks to be able to (hopefully) continue. I don't even think I will be continue to get this weapon next time. It's just unfair, and shows how badly the game management team works. Through out patches, new activities, new loots, new contents, but not even trying to test before releasing a fix. We are not your engineers, we are customers, it's YOUR duty to keep us satisfied. Lastly, please don't tell me I need to wait another month, or I need to do it three weeks later, or I need to do it from 0 because I didn't research about how the bug is fixed. I'm extremely disappointed from the festival event, internet connections, constant internet interruptions, hackers in PvP, bugged quest, and all other issues.

So I ran into a similar problem. I came over to pc from ps4 cross save. I had 2/4 locks unlocked on my Mysterious Box. The Butterfly, and Handlock key. I noticed that the Key Mould was on my quests page, and I also had a Legendary Pulse rifle frame on the final step. I decided to knock out the forge after I got all 24 watcher lenses and ran Lake of Shadows TEN times back to back to get 200 Glimmering Amethyst. Ran Bergusia, killed the drones, and got my Black Armory key. Used on my box and it disappeared. I'm not angry. I know these things happen. I'm disappointed to have wasted two hours grinding my life away for an exotic I thought was attainable. I really enjoy this game. The community for the most part on both steam and ps4 have been really helpful. Please fix this. I still love ya! Hopefully some of this information helps.

6 Replies10/31/19 and just did the izanami forge key. got the drones, max temper, killed boss and collected key. inserted key and no progress on box. apparently the "fix" for the quest did "NOT" happen again or get fixed properly

Same for me waited for fix but disappointed with the other bug. Ada gives Mold now un no effect on mysterious box when the key is used

22 RepliesI just got the Gofannon Key, I inserted it into the box but it does not show the progress on my box, it consumed the key but it still says the gofannon lock isn't opened.
