Content does not dictate a games ability to call itself an MMORPG. You see a lot of people running around in a shared open world experience, that’s generally what an MMO is. I’m not sure if there is an exact number of players in a shared open world that dictates whether a game is an MMO or not. Although I do believe that this game is stretching the definition of a MMO.

  • Point at where you see alot of people at a time ? This game called wow had 40 people in a raid on dial up. Bungie can squeeze 15 in a town ? 12 in a pvp match ? All with higher bandwidth than was ever imagined years ago This game is as close to a MMO as McDonald's is to gourmet food

Funny that you mentioned WoW. It is now less of a MMO than it use to be, with all the cross-realm zoning and sharding/layering. You rarely come upon a 40man raid group in the open world (unless you signed up to it). And even if you do you will most likely get layered out. But again I state; content does not dictate wether a game is a MMO or not.
