If pinnacle weapons stand above the others, no matter what you will be using them over every other weapon in the game.
Oh a new weapon has come out, too bad it's worse than the Pinnacles, including some exotics such as Terrabah.
These weapons are a "must have" when partnering up in activities, it was the same as the Super Exotics being a "must have" as well.
If nothing was nerfed, then all we would ever see is Classes using super exotics and Pinnacle weapons every singe season.
Snow snow start of a season, new exotics and easy to get legendaries would be obsolete by comparison.

I will agree that having them stand above every single weapon would be pretty ridiculous. It's not the nerfs, entirely, that are upsetting to me. It's the removal of the entire system of pinnacles. It's not like during every season that one pinnacle has reigned supreme, except maybe for recluse and luna for a while. In the right player's hands, any weapon can be competitive. Beyond the few we've seen that just mow people down without mercy, unique pinnacle perks put those weapons in a unique spot in the meta, in my opinion.
