I disagree with everything you said except the loot. The loot is mediocre...but that has been true of every Destiny 2 raid. The only weapons really worth chasing are the exotics....and even that is questionable given the brutally low drop rates.
I think Crown of Sorrow (except for the final boss battle) is one of the best raids since Wrath of the Machine. Having to manage buffs that only allow you to damage certain enemies brings back memories of the Skolas fight in Destiny 1.....but COS is a lot better and a lot more fun to play.
My only issue is with the final boss fight which is more of the same stand-and-deliver damage dump that is so often the case with Destiny 2 raid boss fights. There are only so many variations of the Golgoroth fight you can stomach before it simply gets stale and not-very-enjoyable.

I think the Auto and the Shotty have potential to be cool weapons if you get the right rolls. But trying to get the right rolls on Raid weapons is probably one of the worst things someone could hope to do on Destiny

It's a good thing Bungie is doing all new stuff with Shadowkeep then (new as in, old bosses re-skinned as "nightmares"). I'll hold judgement until it's out but as it stands, it's looking like more of the copy-paste strategy Bungie has been known for with Destiny.

To each his own. But given that Bungie lost their publisher and access to over 400 additional employees to work on content, I'm amazed that we're getting ANYTHING this fall. I was sure that we were only going to get another annual pass.
