It is way better than a 6/10 it was pioneering in its effects, like seriously, they looked insane and still look good now. Mac is an iconic character and the blood sabotage is genius. I'd give it at least an 8 or 9/10

Key word: Atleast

Seriously, that movie was my introduction to horror. I even got a movie poster signed by John Carpenter
-
Easily my favorite movie, it was so freaking good
-
Yeah. It's a shame they scrapped the practical effects in the prequel.
-
I know, it just looked terrible
-
Yeah, they looked meh at best. And the previews of the practical effects that were going to used were some of the most impressive things I have ever seen.
-
These was scene when the lady turns into a Thing that the cgi was actually pretty good but on the helicopter and in the space ship it looked horrible
-
Yeah, I never watched that full one but I have seen those scenes. An even bigger shame is that the team that was doing the practical effects did a movie called harbinger down. But they didnt have the budget to make it look as good as what they had for the thing.
-
You know what's worst is that they originally did most of the scenes with practical affects but then switched to CGI for no reason
-
Yeah, some of the higher ups didnt like that you could see the non suit parts from certain angles. It honestly was such a shame.
-
As much as I was disappointed in the prequel you have to give credit to the fact they kept the continuity into the 1982 film absolutely solid
-
I just wish they used the original effects.
