Why do we keep adding ways to get automatic free kills through A.I. (arc buddies, arc web) or AoE melees (Slams, tackles, handheld novas, burns) and punish the class that uses actually gunplay in a fps. Is it cause we are an RPG now?

I agree. It seems strange that they are so quick to nerf mechanics that require skill to activate, but they keep Introducing mindless weapons and abilities into the game that will do the work for you.(colony, jotunn, arc soul, arc web, truth, wardcliff, shoulder charge)

Indeed. I wouldn't say that a crouching headshot is a massive display of skill, but it is harder than the things you listed

Definitely not. But it is a display of SOME level of skill and it requires that you sacrifice mobility(if even only for a second) to do it.
