I’m not the biggest car guy, but I never cared much for American made sports cars. They just seem like cheap (though actually super expensive) knockoffs of superior Italian cars. I’d take the Huracan over that any day

Really the Vette is the only US made sports car that has ever really directly competed with any Italian Super cars. The Shelby Cobra back in the 60's was purpose built to do just that, as well as the Ford GT40, and the current Ford GT, but they're not really direct market competitors with the Vette. Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers were never designed to compete with any of the Italian's, though in certain racing series they do just that. Here in the American road racing GT series the biggest competitor for the Mustang is actually Porsche and McLaren.
