anyone could. but would they? are the candidates who currently make Lenin seem conservative really going to swing that far to the middle? and salvage what amount of their base? it would take some big explaining to go from free everything to... well now, i know i said i would unreservedly support free stuff, but now i don't. and still be viable?

I think you missed my point. Trump was a joke of a candidate at the beginning, now he's the president. Anyone can win the presidency, he's living proof of that.

trump was my response to your post. a joke taken seriously. you can't mess with people who take jokes seriously. you can try to be rational with them, but it won't work. I honestly think that there really isn't a mainstream candidate who could beat trump rn. Biden is so far the best bet. It pains me to say that
