Unfortunately, Bungie does not restore lost or deleted items or characters.

This sucks at the highest level. That was 50+ motes gone because of their lack of ability to see that opening a box and discard use the same button. Come on, Bungie! This is basic UI development... which I do for a living... It isn't rocket science. This makes me a bit sick. Weeks of grinding gone in a fraction of a second because of a BS UI choice on their part.

I just did the exact same thing! This is a horrible UI design. One slip during the opening of a solstice package, and all your cores gone!? I just lost over 200 that I've been building up for Shadowkeep...
