Is crucible really THAT terrible to most people?
How is it really THAT bad to many of you? I've never had any issues with it.
I still don't have any issues with it right now.
This is the second season in a row I managed to reach fabled in competitive mostly solo. I earned recluse, Luna's Howl, revoker, and hopefully mountaintop in the past 2 seasons.
The craziest thing about it all? I don't even use the meta. I'm not a shotgun user, I don't snipe that much, I barely use hand cannons, and I certainly don't use erentil unless I'm just screwing around.
I just don't get how people are having such an issue if I'm not. Sure everything is opinion and subjective, but come on, stop complaining so hard and just play.

The very fact that you don't use the meta constantly is why you enjoy it more. People who say they have a shit time are only having a shit time because they take the game far too seriously. It's just a game people, and not even a truly competitive one.

2 RepliesI see your point and I'm not usually complaining about PvP, but I do have some issues with it: Supers regenerate way too fast and some last way too long, almost making gunplay obsolete. Class balancing is unfair, especially for warlocks. (And this is coming from a hunter main) Grenades are worthless. (Opinion) maps are claustrophobic and are weirdly laid out. So far, I've been thrown into hundreds of games where one team is a bunch of blueberries with some level 8's in there; whereas, the other team is a 4 or 6 stack running the scummiest loadouts known to man. Quickplay has become a stomping ground for sweaty comp players. Which leads me to my next point, the hardcore PvP players (sweaty comp players in particular-the no job basement dweller kind) have been running the most op, lowest skill loadouts and act like they're better than everyone. When they die or lose a game, they whine and complain, accuse others of hacking, and hatemail. They have zero chill and high blood pressure for no reason. I agree with you, I'd love to stop seeing complaints and just enjoy the game. I can take a loss, but I lose motivation to keep playing if I'm getting pubstomped by youtubers and comp sweats. It's hard to enjoy the game when it's unfair and people are hatemailing you when you do good.

Edited by Summ1BetterThnU: 7/17/2019 6:37:23 PMThe biggest issue I have with crucible is the lack of playlist variety, minimal fixed playlists, the garbage fixed playlists we have now, and poor map design in D2. -Fixed 3v3 skirmish casual playlist is a must -Fixed 3v3 elimination casual playlist is a must. -Simplification of game types in competitive mode needs to happen - just make it clash and elimination. -The second half of every quickplay game is miserable, you spend the entire time running away from supers or getting killed by power ammo. Supers and power ammo need to be altered.

It's always been horrible. Just afk time for me so I can get my light up when I need it. Sucks that exotics have pvp steps. Just gotta do without those exotics. Until I find some cheap place and someone can get them for me.

Edited by reenry: 7/17/2019 6:16:17 PMI moved back to console and played with a stacked team. I was solo and this was my first match back. I held above a 2.0 kd with 22+ kills while the stacks barley held a 1. Console is a joke. It tells you how much people over exaggerate.

For me crucible was fun before the dreaded luna meta, then recleus came along, same with shot guns, instead of my usual run into battle and kill things I play way too defensively now because I know that if I run into a battle I'll have a chaperone sticking out of my butt. Or a sniper waiting to make q hole in my forehead. It's why I use scouts and snipers. If I get the drop on them before they get close I'll live. Now I dont care for recluse or luna anymore since I got a great pvp/pve role trust and I'm great with scouts. My personal favorite being jade rabbit, mida just doesnt feel good anymore. Only reason I'm stepping into comp is because its easier to get the revolker and isnt stupidly broken so I will not feel dirty getting kille with it, and It gives me ice breaker vibes.

I hate it with a passion. I only play it to complete quests and bounties, and all of those have me play in a way that ruins the experience for other people. I also hate the matchmaking. Sure I match quickly but the vast majority of the games either have my team creaming the other team, or getting creamed. Is having a match that's close such an unreasonable ask?

I’ve really only played Destiny for pvp. Destiny 1 was nonstop for me, didn’t enjoy the two primary team shot meta in D2 y1, however...I really enjoy where it is currently!

5 RepliesGlad you’re having fun. Personally I only play during Iron Banner because at least then there’s a chance to not be overmatched every game. I don’t enjoy being a punching bag for e-bullies. Bungie could do 2 things and fix crucible; bring back sbmm for the bottom 25% and institute solo queue only on quick play. If they did those two things crucible would be tolerable.

Not to me. Sure, I get the occasional match where I get stomped, and quitters will occasionally try to drag down the experience. That new ghost bug is mildly annoying, but I know they’ll fix it when they can. But I don’t feel the need to cry over a specific weapon meta or unbalanced matches. Switching from 4v4 back to 6v6 also helped to show they’re making efforts to right previous wrongs. Now if only map size will open up a bit I hop on to have fun, and that’s exactly what I get - any exceptions to that aren’t really worth barking about to me.

Overall I enjoy PvP, I personally feel like a lot of the maps are a little cramped though. I mean in year one they were all for 4v4, then they switched it to 6v6, that’s four more people in a match. I would like to see some larger maps in the Quickplay mode. Mid-town is a good spaced out map, I want more maps similar to that, maybe with less choke points though

I'm with you. I enjoy Crucible for the most part, but it's also because I don't worry too much about my K/D and don't play a strict meta. For me the best part of Crucible in D1 and D2 has always been changing my loadouts and finding good off-meta weapons and combinations. Sure shotgun apes and HCs get annoying, but if you pay attention there's plenty of ways to counter them. Also, don't be afraid to back out of the occasional match. I'm not saying every game, but if you're not having fun then try to find a better match. The matchmaking is the one thing I can definitively say needs work since it's all over the map in terms of game balance. I shouldn't go from a 16-0 flawless mercy on a team and then be sub 1.0 KA/D on my next. There needs to be a little better consistency even in Quickplay.

I wouldn't side you and say it's not bad bad as what everyone thinks but I would also say it has lots of areas where it can be improved on. How you want to digest and process my comment is up to you.

I think some people just aren't good at losing, I'm not sure if it's an issue of ego in general or more specifically entitlement or conditioning for instant gratification, but some people just can't handle the fact that they will get their butts handed to them somtimes. I play Crucible a lot, somtimes I am well rested and focused and earnestly try my hardest to win and make some godly plays, but often times I am tired from a 12 hour shift and mess around in Quickplay or Rumble and have more of a win some-lose some experience. Other times (yesterday) I grind my final 100 sniper kills for Revoker for hours straight and gradually decline from 10-20 kills in a Rumble match into a slump of failure where I can't get more than a few kills in a game and force myself to take a break. In any of these circumstances I have fun and enjoy the action whether I come out ahead or I don't. I have a handful of real life friends I play with, some are good, some are mediocre but handle it well, some are bad but handle it well, and some are mediocre but scream and cry and rage that everything but what they are using at that time is broken and overpowered and cheap and makes their opponent a miserable and terrible person. That latter type are the ones that I kindly tell that I can no longer enjoy the game playing with them and respectfully wish to keep our friendship out of Destiny. I really think it's that last type of person that you see moaning about how horrible Crucible is on these forums more often than not. I personally think it's a blast.
