imo, the casual term apply mostly to the dificulty content you consume as a customer, not to the amount of time you put into a game Say someone play every day 7-8 hours, from witch some is quickplay, some are patrols, rest is on orbit , even if he play everything but doesnt do raids or comp, then imo he is a casual Casuals is not about the amount of time u invest but the dificulty of the content you do

  • Fair enough. Where do you draw the line? Say someone attempts Solo/Solo Flawless Shattered Throne, other Solo challenges in stuff like Nightfalls with disadvantages?Typical content that can easily be done but with self-imposed modifiers to make them more difficult? Also, someone who grinds "god rolls" as opposed to someone who settles with just the gun itself?

  • Imo, casual players do not bother to do the following (FOR A LOT OF REASONS, BTW): ..masterwork their armor ..use mods on their armor that match with their sub class, to create a fluid build ..research out of the game itself how the class they play can improve, their best sub class for raiding and so on All this means that there are different ppl who have a very distinct opinion on how the game should be played, but yes, no challenging content = casual My cousin is very good at fps, could easily solo his Luna for example, but he doesn't do it, and he admits that on this terms, he is a casual If someone does raids, even one per week, he is not casual If he doesn't, even if he stay logged in 10 hours a day, then yeah, he is as casual as it can be Disclaimer: there are very skilled casual players out there, they just dont like to do the raids, or challenging content, that is all imo There is a clear distinction between casual and lazy, and the two terms should never ever intertwine and mingle.

  • That's a very reasonable way at looking at it. I can't believe i'm saying this, would you say there is casually hardcore players? Not deserving of the term "casual" itself, just doesn't see incentive in said activities like Raids or Comp or are happy with what they have or can get outside of them?

yes there are very very skilled players, who just plain out dont raid because "reasons", being time, being afraid of speaking in discord, who knows But if they would try, they would leave their team behind in kills/dmg/skill So in the end, depends on the one behind the screen

I both agree and disagree with some of the things you have said, but I overwhelmingly agree. This post was made for another individual, to discuss this statement, edited as a spoiler in the main post now. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this.
