I've read the LOTR books a while ago, watched a couple lore videos, and have memorized the extended edition of the movies!
Let's do this

So I know next to nothing basically
• Next to nothing!? You just referenced the Appendices to Tiger in another comment! For shame sir, you know much more than the average reader that is certain

 • The span between the hobbit and the death of King Elessar is about 250 or so years. Other than that, I know very little of Malkor and of the rankings of beings, some scattered bits of information. That's a blip of one age and vauge details of others. I don't know much beyond that.
Brad-ur took about a thousand years to build. Probably because it was so massive.
• Thousand years...whew, that is impressive. I believe he started to build it when he was in disguise and beginning to forge the rings with the elves. If you have an Amazon fire tablet, you can get the Silmarillion for free (last I checked). I know it's a long book to get started on, but if you have the time I can't recommend it enough

 • I've considered reading it over the summer. I probably will then. And maybe the LOTR books again.

 • In the extended edition of Return of the King, there is a scene where Aragorn challenges Sauron to draw him out to the black gate. In the palantir, right before he sees Arwen, you see Sauron (The one you see in the prologue) holding a palantir. Does this mean that Sauron already had a body, but was just weak? And the eye was just a creation or entity of Sauron to watch things? What do you think?

 • Hmm...it could be. I don't know too much about that part, but I think that the eye was him. The body might have just been for dramatic effect as I think Sauron could regain that power if he reclaimed the One Ring. But I'm not entirely sure

 • I'm just basing this off of what other people have said, but there was a sentemce in the black gate where Gollum recalled the dark lord had only 4 fingers. Something in Tolkiens notes and letters implies a physical form I suppose. https://www.quora.com/Why-doesnt-Sauron-have-a-physical-body-Why-is-he-just-an-eye An answer in the link has some of this information. I wish we were given a more direct answer from Tolkien.
