Max Light/Level should ONLY come from completing the Raid, or Prestige version if available.
Title pretty much says it all.
I think we should only be able to get max light through doing the raid, you shouldn’t be able to just strike your way to the top. Also, this way, when you see someone at Max light you know they’re not a headless chicken who just strike their way to 700.

Bungie is doing well to design for the people who actually play their game but there is still a LARGE part of the community, for a number of reasons (whether I agree with their reasons or not), that don't do raids. Bungie just can't afford to gear the game toward 5% of their player base only, it would be a terrible business decision. They opened D1 with that method and it wasn't working...FOREVER 29.

This literally cuts out any and all other end game content. Considering raids don’t even seem worth it anymore I’d say they need to be reworked in general

Except end game is much more than just raids now, that's the difference from the d1 system.

I agree that it’d be more interesting only being able to hit max light from simple activities like completing a strike but limiting it to just raids is not a good idea. It’d be better to limit it to the most difficult activity from various parts of the game, like nightfalls, competitive, raids, things like that. Locking it to raids simply ruins the fun for those who don’t enjoy raids.

Raid or pvp equivalent. Too easy to hit max light these days, you bang your head on the level cap within a fortnight. I like leveling up, getting higher light gear. The fun is in the chase.
