Exactly, what is the point in asking for feedback if all you get is whiny insults? I would assume that isn't so helpful in improving the game.

There's "whiny insults" and there is "player base wide" dissatisfaction. If you're running a business, and you're getting a LOT of dissatisfaction from your customers across multiple social media platforms AND in multiple forms of media, one would think that a business that cares about its customers and image would do a little more than nothing at all.
