That's precisely the problem. I'm making me play this game so why should I or anyone else who makes the choice to play be subject to gambling addiction mechanic?

When you buy a game you’re buying a product, not company shares. You don’t have a voice of the decisions made in this game or company. Them asking for feedback and having these communities is a courtesy.

I used to think this way but they seem to have taken peoples' dedication and shat on it. Not a good way to make loyal players happy.

I just judge loyalty by how much of someone's free time they put into playing. Not by whether or not their posts are nice. Apparently there's a lot of people at Bungie who take offense to the things people say in these forums but they don't defend themselves and just use the negative as an excuse to not own up to mistakes.

Largely? I would say they are wholly irrelevant to the game's development. It doesn't matter how much you play, if you complain you get ignored.
