<That's why I'm willing to defend Zavala. I'm sure he'll come to and be the kickass commander he was built up to be. Also... he IS kind of right about Rasputin.>
English
-
Oh, no. Zavala is COMPLETELY right about the unstable Rasputin. Ana Bray is playing with a time bomb.
-
<It's not that he's unstable, it's that he's unhelpful. Last time the Darkness came around, he fired at it, said "oh shit" and fell asleep. He didn't even dent it and we expect him to kick our enemies' asses? He may be able to defend against Cabal and Vex but Fallen get into his vaults all the time and he clearly can't defeat a small group of Hive in the area he was -blam!-ing built in. What makes anyone think that he stands a chance against the Darkness?>
-
It feels like he'll have a more important role in D3 at this rate. Kind of like a leader.
-
I defend Zavala as well. He was right about not sending every Guardian to the Reef to hunt Uldren to start a needless war over one Guardian's death.
-
Actually, even in the eyes of the real world refusing to take action after the killing of your leader by a foreign power is considered as a sign of weakness and a bit dishonorable. Uldren, Prince of an entire civilization, murdered Cayde, who is one of the leaders of the City. Even sending in a small Fireteam would’ve been better than doing nothing. Sorry, but I can defend Zavala and his actions in Warmind, but his refusing to do anything about Cayde’s murder is just inexcusable.
-
I agree with this. He should have given his blessing unofficially.
-
He could’ve given officially. I mean seriously, dealing with high priority threats is a bit important, wouldn’t you agree?
-
This wasn't a war between powers, nor military. Guardians are not an army, nor conquerors for their "Leaders".
-
This wasn't a war between powers, nor military.
Yes, what Uldren did is technically an act of war. Need I bring up how one of history’s deadliest wars started all because a leader was assassinated by someone who belonged to a radical group of a different country? You had what was not only what could be considered a radical, but also a member of Awoken Royalty. Either way you want to look at it, it’s an act of war.
Guardians are not an army, nor conquerors for their "Leaders".
I know what you are doing. Trying to bring up what Zavala said as his “justification.” In fact, everything Zavala said in his own defense is complete BS for a multitude of reasons: 1). Guardians are the City’s military. By definition, a military is the armed forces of a country. And while you can argue that militaries have different branches, I’d like to remind you that all those branches come from the same thing that serves as the basics: the army. 2). We aren’t being conquerers if we are acting upon what is clearly an act of war. Like I said earlier, the killing of an important leader to a country is a very big deal and shouldn’t be taken lightly, and failure to even act on this is just dishonorable and cowardly. Zavala should be embarrassed. 3). Zavala is an idiot. Seriously, part of his justification for not wanting to go after Uldren and the Barons was because “There are too many escapees from the Prison of Elders, we can’t send anyone after those guys.” I really shouldn’t have to explain this one, but I’ll do it anyways: HE IS WILLINGLY AND KNOWINGLY IGNORING WHAT WERE POSSIBLY THE NINE MOST DANGEROUS PRISONERS TO HAVE ESCAPED THE PRISON AND ATTEMPTED TO COVER UP HIS STUPID DECISION BY MAKING ALL AVAILABLE GUARDIANS GO AFTER THAT DREG WHO WAS LOCKED UP FOR PETTY THEFT!!! The top nine high priority targets he was completely ignoring and allowing to get away. I’m sorry, but this one definitely is inexcusable.

(Referring to point 3) I understand what you’re saying, but think about the danger it would pose to send inexperienced guardians after those 9 most dangerous prisoners. The sniper is known for killing guardians. Imagine sending a bunch of them after him. I think the best was to take it slow and figure out the best strike team to take him out. Our guardian is lucky it all worked out to our favor.

Heck, how did you come to the assumption that I’m suggesting he should’ve sent out inexperienced Guardians? What I’m suggesting is that he could’ve sent us and some other highly skilled Guardians like Shaxx or Shiro (the latter of which who specializes in assassinations) to go after the Barons and Uldren. Instead, he opted NOT to handle the 9 most dangerous criminals in the System and leave them be, knowing full well what they are capable of.
-
I AM suprised they didnt reintroduce shiro. Knowing the relationship between him and Cayde, I could see him going rogue. But maybe we dont know enough about him to think that. And Shaxx, probably used Caydes death as fuel to the flame that is the crucible, further pushing that guardians be better. If nothing else so less guardians would succumb to Caydes fate.
-
lol no. Just no.
-
You know I’m right. You know I’m very much right.
-
Sure you are, you go ahead and think that. This is like the first time I can't be bothered to argue a point.
-
Because you can’t argue my point back because I brought up some pretty good points.
-
Okay 👌
-
<But then turned around for the Dreaming City situation, realizing what was at stake.>
-
Exactly.
