Quite honestly, I was surprised at the low scores for FMA and Boku No Hero Academia but that's because I heavily enjoyed both and FMA's second story Brotherhood, that follows the manga 1 to 1. I sit here thinking what would make a good conversation, I'm just drawing blanks though. I don't mean to antagonize you with my first comment , just laying out my thoughts. I mostly enjoy what ones you place above 5 but My little monster being so high.. I just don't get that. Perhaps I need to re-watch it since it has been years but that really wasn't something I look back on too fondly.

 • From what I’ve notice. My values and perspectives really do differ from everyone else’s. What I look for in an anime, show, movie... Is its identity, for starters. If it’s Kiddy, then it’ll be full of fan-service and expositions with poor/easily to follow along story plot. - A mature theme. Well you rarely find something that follows along the lines of “Mature”. Intimate. Then it isn’t presenting a bunch of characters while adding new characters... further confusing the plot. Character. What sets itself a part besides a “new theme”. My hero academy... jump on the “Superhero hype”, it really makes it easy that they straight up copy a lot of ideas and settings from Naruto, rather than take up inspiration for originality. - As for my ranking system. Know this. My rating is not a “Comparison” to all the anime I’ve seen. I review it as a stand-alone product, however Fan-service is always a mark down.

 • Spoiler because this is how I think.
I see. While your assessment of Academia is true, I find myself elated by everything the show has: Be that the fighting, things they say and the thoughts behind their actions in the moment. I can't help but lose myself in the silliness of it all. The build ups and their climaxes that have me on the edge + excitement. Something that has taken me a lot to learn is the fact that, as long as I'm honest to myself and keep my opinions spoken only when I'm asked how I think. Witch I'm sure is mega obvious, just something I've learned to appreciate the most. Fan service I tend to let just slide under the bridge.
In any-case thanks for letting me know what and how you make your decisions. The only thing I have come to despise over the years is - Number = My opinion. Even on written reviews and at the end you just see hurb derp 7/10, then people lose their minds and just focus on that. Recommendations are a tricky thing because even if a show matches what you want to see, you might end up just not liking it anyway. Eh.

 • Regarding me labelling. One thing is certain; it is far more direct rather than a review being made, whether through video or post and at the overall conclusion their final assessment is “Its up to you” the viewer to decide... In other words, people can’t really make a true assessment/ evaluation of what they just reviewed... = Last place prize. You get a trophy just for participating. Doesn’t apply in the olympics. - I care about passion driven projects compared to jump on the hype = make super hero content due to the rise of super hero movies/anime/tv show.

 • When it comes to the entertainment medium. I find myself far more accepting for themes and ideas conveyed through the animated genre, much much more than shows done by live action, I guess you could say. With some key exceptions being future Sci-Fi shows like Star Trek and Amdomada or something mythical, magical and olden times like Merlin. I am unsure on whether to think that academia did just jump on the superhero bandwagon because my opinion is in favor of enjoying what it is. Though I am sure that when you said ''passion driven projects'', it rang a bell inside of me that I never considered to think of something, I enjoyed much greater then this anime. I don't think it has anything to do with this convo so I'll just leave it ambiguous.
