I remember that article. Agree with it on almost every point. “Casuals” were like last on the list of reasons D2 launched straight into the ground like a -blam!-in’ dart.
Frankly, Destiny needs to cater to every type of player. No exceptions. And yeah, that’s an incredibly complex problem to solve, but it’s also Bungie’s job to do so. That’s what they get paid to do.

I think the complaints are really the casual “end game” is different from the more hardcore “end game” in my opinion. Maybe being max light on 3 characters and having all the drops isn’t a realistic goal for the casuals. So then what does bungie do to make them feel accomplished?

Honestly though, right now where the game is at....is it not pretty balanced between the two player bases. A casual has plenty of things to just do and even avenues for progress. The progression of casuals and hardcores should in no way mirror each other. This is not to say casuals shouldn’t get a shot at good gear but to be fair the past few events have all but handed all of us pretty nice powerful gear. Simply for playing a little while. Again it really is a balance that needs to be met but in all fairness, it’s the best D2 has been.
